Monochrome Monday We will remember them
This is a post for Monochrome Monday hosted by @old-guy-photos A challenge I try to join as often as I can, the other challenges he hosts are Sepia Saturday and Tree Tuesday, all fun challenges and worth checking out.
For this weeks post, I will focus on what Memorial Day is about, remember those who gave their lives for our Country, I know its also a weekend traditionally spent with family and friends and I hope you all had a good weekend, but I will share some statues on the Milford Green that I think fit with today being Memorial Day.

Now let me adds the word of a poem on remembrance for Military who have given their lives.
back in NZ on the equivalent of Memorial day which is two occasions
Remembrance day
Remembrance day which is on the the 11th of November to honor to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty
ANZAC day
ANZAC day is on April the 25th, which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War,
Here is the stanza of the poem that we Military used to say On these days and I still say it each morning at Sunrise on each of these days
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Thanks for sharing those photos today. It is a day to remember those men that didn't get to come home to those families that have a flag and gold star. For they answered the call.
My Pleasure to share this, Memorial Day and Veterans day are very important for me, I could skip most other events without being bothered but I hate missing these

My dad served during WW ll, and this day is a very special day for me.
Great pictures, thanks for sharing, otherwise I would never of had the chance to see these wonderful monuments honoring those that have sacrificed so much for all of us.
My Dad also served in World War 2, he never spoke about it much he served in J Force and i think he saw things he could never share with family only with others who were there, I can relate as some of the things. Have seen in Missions I could never discuss with people that had not experienced it
Sorry I went off t a tangent, but with mY father and Uncles serving in the war and some giving there all in Word War one, it is a very special day for me also
To remember is to honor, and to talk about those who served, especially our loved ones, only brings back fond memories of these very valiant individuals.
Yes Indeed that is true, the worse thing would be for their valiant service to be forgotten in my mind
