This morning I thought I would share a couple of shots of this cool building in Lower Manhattan at 8 Spruce street, originally it was known as Beekman tower, but is now called New York by Gehry.
As the name implies the architect was Frank Gehry who is quite well known for contemporary designs all around the world such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Disney Concert hall in Los Angeles just to name a couple.

New York by Genhry is a 76 Story Skyscaper and one of the tallest residential buildings in the world with around 900 residential units in the building.
But all that said to me the design with the curvy patterns going up the building just catches one eye no matter what angle you look at it

900 families in one building what if you have one idiot that decides to make a lot of noise in the middle of the night you will have 899 upset families...
Generally these apartments are fairly well sound proofed but in the older apartments that can be a problem
I am glad I don’t live in any sort if apartments
Quite an impressive building. Seems like it's almost rented out.
I am not sure but it’s a good location sonwould be popular I would imagine
I've not seen this building before. Like you, i love the curvy design. It makes you go back and look because something about it doesn't see quite right to the mind. The overall shape produces an expectation of straight lines.
I wonder if the curves make any difference to the rooms inside?
It is a building that makes you look twice Or more at it

That's a very cool building and a lovely picture. Love seeing stuff like this and wonder how much steel, if any, comes from the mill I work at.

That is a really cool building! That looks like a building you’d see in like an Avengers movie that wouldn’t actually be real if you know what I mean lol.
