Street photography is something I am not to comfortable with so I seldom do, but over the last week or two I have been trying to get a few shots so actually have a couple for this challenge this week.

This guy was sitting at one of the tables outside the New York Public Library on 5th Ave, clearing listening to some tunes and having some quite relaxing time.

Now this second guy was by Tudor City at Lunchtime one day and one of the few I ever see these days actually reading a news paper, you see so many checking out their electronic devices and few actually reading papers or books.

SO will this be a change to me taking more street photos, I honestly do not know time will tell LOL

Congratz, your post has been resteemed and, who knows, will maybe appear in the next edition of the #dailyspotlights (Click on my face if you want to know more about me...)

I love street photos but I'm not too comfortable taking them either... So far, I've been doing more 'hit-and-run' ones... lol - mainly from the car, my caught-on-the-move shots! Maybe it's time I try more of them... :)

I started with a long zoom lens so I was a good way away from them and in most cases they didnt notice, but now trying to get closer for them, and switching to silent shooting so it snot so obvious LOL

I read about the shoot from the hip trick... so they don't know you were even aiming at them! Lol... I must try that!! Silent shooting - must remember.... :D

I tried it out for a couple of shots today and getting the aim right from the hip is tricky but its cool to try

It has been so long since I've read a newspaper too. Wow, now that I think about it, it has been a long time since I've read the news in Spanish, or anywhere that isn't on Reddit or Steemit.

I'm not uncomfortable with street photography, but I'm always scared of the consequences, that they might look up and see little me just taking shots of their face. Ugh, I can't imagine how I'd deal with someone angry that I was taking a surprise picture.

Dunno. Perhaps I'm overthinking it.

Taking these shots I thought the same its been ages since i read an actual Paper, I do read books occasionally

on street photography thats the same fear i have I guess, plus i also feel like I am invading peoples privacy

Very good shots @tattoodjay, I like it a lot because it actually transmits what you say in the description.

thanks for your visit and thoughts truly appreciated

I think your street shots were pretty awesome, Jay:)

Thanks, I need to keep trying to work on them and get more confident in this area

I think you have reason to be confident:)

Thanks I think part of my reason for not doing this much is one I dont like invading peoples privacy and secondly I am always worried someone will react badly if they see me taking a photo

That is totally understandable:) I feel the same way:)

😎👍😎

Love the pics that you have. I don't know about you, initially when I was looking through the photos, I thought they were from different timelines.

Thanks and yes I did get get that feeling when I was looking at them I find the second one could have easily been taken 50 or more years ago

People look pretty comfortable in their natural habitat. @ironshield

these two did look so relaxed and isolated from all around them for sure

I love seeing photo's of real people living!

Models have their places in the realm of things but real people doing real life holds my attention more. I find it fascinating!

I totally agree I love watching people on the streets real people, models on runways and such dont interest me at all

Stalking on people again I see
;)

LOL yeah thats what it feels like for me lOL

Nice shots. I haven't done much street photography either..... some people don't like their pic taken.. But someone gave me a neat tip I may try. He told me that he used to set his camera up to take a shot every so many seconds. He'd wear his camera around while it was taking shots. As you can imagine not all were good shots but he said he used to always get at least two or three good ones.

Your first shot was quite striking but you're right, that fellow with the newspaper was a great snap!

Thanks, the second shot is my favorite of the street shots I got so far to be honest

Funnily enough I did read that same tip this morning and also to switch on Silent shooting while doing that, its something I may try today and see how it goes :)
