Silky falls

Silky falls

I recently bought the Haidi M10 Filter system, it includes three filters a Circular polarizing fitter-- Which reduces glare from reflections and I haven't used yet, A graduated Neutral density filter and a 10 Stop Neutral density filter, the Neutral density filter basically reduces the amount of light getting to the camera lens and sensor and most of the shots in this post.

Starting with this first shot of the water over the rocks, this was with the filter and a 20 second exposure which give the silky feel to the water flowing down and over the rocks.

As the first couple of shots are Mono I will count this also as a MonoChrome Monday post which is hosted by @old-guy-photos

This second shot is taken without the filter just to show what I could get during the day without a filter as you can see it kind of freezes the water in spot.

This next shot is showing the falls from the side and I tried a 1.3 second long exposure for this shot

This is looking straight on at the waterfalls and a 15 second exposure I like how the water came out so still in this on the river part but you can see the trails of the bubbles along the water and the silky effect of the water over the falls.
This was my first time using this kit so I was trying different settings and seeing what came out.

And back to a close in shot of water flowing over and around the rocks, this one is a 10 second exposure

All in all I am pretty happy with the shots I got with using this kit and have already used it one more time and look forward to using it now and again in the right situation

And that’s all folks

Really nice photos man those look really cool

Thanks I am having fun with this filter system :))

I've never had a ton of luck taking long exposure photos of waterfalls like that. I think part of it just had to do with the limitations of my camera. I might have to play around with it a little more next time. It is so rare that I carry a real camera with me anymore though.

I had tried cheap ND filters on my older camera a few years back and they were terrible gave such a terrible color cast and reduced the clarity a lot, this set works well, of course you need a good sturdy tripod as well

Wow! Those images are spectacular @tattoodjay Any one of them could grace the cover of a glossy travel magazine. I simply have to have to share these for others to enjoy too.

Thanks for such a kind comment and support
I do love be getting shots like these for sure

Wow, the difference in the smoothness of the water flow is dramatic with the filter. The photos are amazing!

Doesn't it make such a difference i know some dont like the silky feel but I love it :)

I like both the silky look and natural chaos of the water. It helps set the mood of the photo. Turbulent water makes me think of the raw power of nature and silky flow gives a peaceful setting.

Thats a greta way of describing the different feel of the shots I do so agree but would never have said it so well

Post upvoted and resteemed JJ, thanks for the help earlier.
I wish I felt better.
That is an interesting filter, I will have to ask you more about it
Later, when I finally get better.
Thanks

Sorry you are not feeling well I hope you feel better soon
This filter is a physical one not a virtual software one that reduces the amount of light getting to the lens and sensor

I read where you said that.
Thanks
