in SteemitCryptoAcademy3 years ago

Hello everyone, I hope y'all having a great day over there. After successfully writing my task 1 the past few weeks, I am back again to continue my lectures in this great SteemCryptoAcademy. I must say that, although I just started and this is my second assignment, I have learnt a lot from various users on this platform. I want to thank @eberechi10, @yousafharoonkhan, @sapwood and every other professor, lecturer, and teacher. I am grateful.

I have read the post on this task by @yousafharoonkhan, and I have understood what he has said. I must say that he has vividly explained Blockchain, Decentralization, and Block explorer.

Now to answer the questions:

What is a block explorer? And what is its purpose and use?

A block explorer is an application or program which carries transaction information of a cryptocurrency wallet. It houses the transaction details of the wallet, the current balance, the amount of coin received at a particular time, the amount of coin that was in the account before the coin came in, as well as the current balance.

Search for different cryptocurrency block explorers and list them below. At least five different cryptocurrencies.

Also explore the transaction of a crypto coin on block explorer and explain with the help of screenshot.

In this question, I will be using the steemblockexplorer to explore my steem account.

First here's the home page of the steemblockexplorer

On the home page, only the top 12 witnesses, their number of transactions, their votes, comments, etc are shown, but since that's not what we are after right now, I will type in my account name in the search box above.

At the top right corner of my screenshot above, the block explorer shows the current steem and SteemDollar rates. These include STEEM price: $0.528, SBD price: $7.45, Base feed price: $0.525, and Internal market: $0.0709 (As at the time of this post)

Next going down, it carries my details such as:
My reputation: 53
My total number of posts: 258
My 100% upvote value: $0.0048
My total vests: 494,388
My total SteemPower (SP): 295.468SP
My total steem: 0.416 STEEM
My total SteemDollars: $0.000 SBD
My voting power and how long it will take to get to 100%: 91.51%, full in 10 hours
My downvote power: 100% and
My RCs: 556B / 100%

And then below that, it shows my latest transactions.

I am really glad to take this course and I can say that I have understood what blockchain is. It is indeed very interesting to learn.
Thank you.
