THE DIARY GAME: THE UNENDING SEASON 3|How I spent my yesterday 10/08/2021 @vectorshore

in CampusConnect3 years ago

Dear diary,

Yesterday was a wonderful day, and I must say that it was indeed great. I woke up in the morning at about 5:00 am by the knock on my door by the caretaker of the lodge where I stay. At first, I was a bit angry cos I was still feeling sleepy, but I quickly remembered we had an agreement to do something that morning.

MY ACTIVITIES

The water we get from the water tank in the lodge is not actually clean, so with that, there are some procedures we take in making the water clean which includes putting sand into to tank to filter it as well as applying water treatment inside the water tank to treat the water.

For that reason, when the water in the tank gets dried up, it makes the sand in the tank be very thick, thereby blocking the passage of water when we want to fetch. When you want to fetch water, it flows very slowly and it takes time before it gets even a small bucket filled. Together with the queue, it takes so much time before it gets to your turn, especially if you come out late to fetch.

That morning, I and the caretaker of the lodge climbed up to the water tank to wash and clean it up. We started at about 5:30 am after gathering the materials we need to use.

Materials Used

  • Bucket for carrying out the thickened and from the tank
  • Small plastic plate for scraping the sand into the bucket
  • Ladder for climbing into the tank
  • Water treatment for treating the water

The caretaker entered the water tank with the ladder and I helped him with the bucket and plate for him to scrape the sand inside of the tank. It took about 45 minutes before we could clear the thick surface of the sand.

After that, we pumped the water and everything was going on well, ad then boom!! another problem, one of the pipes that pump water into the tank got broken. It's so annoying. We had to fetch the untreated water from the broken pipe so as to bathe and go for your various activities in our school. Other people also came and fetched from the broken pipe, because the caretaker said it is in the evening he can fix the broken pipe because he too was getting ready to go to work.

After fetching my water, I went back to my room, took my bath, brushed my teeth, and also ate my breakfast. I then went to school to continue my Industrial Training which actually ended yesterday. I was happy as I have gained so much knowledge on networking during the training.

At about 8:30 am, I left for the training, and when I got there I met my friends and we chatted and learned a few things before the training actually ended. I also went to my boss's office with some of them and we talked for a long time and the later left as well.

Hello @vectorshore,

I am acquainted with @starrchris, and his reference encouraged me to read and upvote your post.

Upon reading your predicament, I decided to make a post on the subject of water purification. Do you suppose that your facility could put a 300-litre system in place to act as a backup during the cleaning and maintenance of your existing system? It would require a valve to switch between the two.

Thank you my dear friend @dwarrilow2002

Hi @dwarrilow2002, thank you so much for reviewing my post and also for the advice on how I can tackle the issue. I have read your post as well as watched the youtube video posted concerning the issue, and I am so happy to see such a solution, and I will try it out as it will surely not help only me, but also other members of the lodge where I stay. Thank you for the solution.
