Trunk or Treat: A Crappy Camera Extravaganza

in #creativecoin4 years ago

I was first introduced to the concept of "Trunk or Treat" a few years ago. It is a simple idea; people conglomerate in a parking lot and decorate their vehicle trunks for Halloween, wear costumes, and allow children to trick or treat trunk by trunk. It's a fun time, usually, and last week we attended three. My ten year old has come to expect Trunk or Treat's as part of the annual Halloween festivities. Yes, he is spoiled.

For the most part I was camera-free. However, for the trunk or treat at the comic store in which I actually decorated my trunk, I brought my favourite Crappy Camera, the Sony MVC-FD75.

The Trunk. This does not include the items place outside the trunk.

My newest part of the collection also made an appearance and spent the occasion hanging from the hatchback.

It looks like this dude had just a little too much to drink.

And poor Zoltar here just hasn't had anyone come by for a fortune in quite some time.

The Captain himself, Captain Blue Hen, made an appearance as well!

As did Spider Gwen.

And these guys too!

These next two weren't from Trunk or Treat; they're just me messing around and looking for the equivalent of a still from a 1920's silent black and white horror movie. I'm happy with the results.

All photos taken with a Sony MVC-FD75 camera with a 0.4 Megapixel sensor and saved to a floppy disk, where they were transferred to laptop and further modified with Nik Collection, primarily Analague Effects Pro and Silver Effects Pro.

Hi. Looks like lots of fun. I've never been to anything Halloween. I laughed a lot watching the carriage Ghostbusters because I remembered the movie. Regards @wwwiebe

It really is a lot of fun, both for me and the kids. Lots of goofing! Thanks for stopping by!

This is a really cool way to celebrate Halloween !!
Absolutely creative !!

Thank you! The best part is decorating with skeletons!

Frightening!

It's certainly a lot of fun!

Yes, I think so.

dear @wwwiebe, it is so beautiful that you keep these traditions (even if modern) with your child, and I think he is not spoiled for this reason! in Italy there is the custom of dressing up as ghosts or witches (but it is not much followed), and it is usually children who do trunks or treats in shops. I think that halloween is a way to exorcise the thought of death and to accept the existence of spirits: if this party is celebrated well it can be good and meaningful for children :-))
continue and congratulations on your curie evaluation

Thank you very much! The little guy ended up absolutely exhausted, but nothing wrong with him getting a good night's sleep!

Hahaha, now we don't have Halloween over here, but you have some great ideas here. Must have been a blowout Lol.
Oh! And I also love that old telephone in your boot.
Blessings!

That telephone is new as of this year, too. I love it! Thanks for noticing!

Ha, we seem to like similar things my friend as I noticed it immediately.
Blessings!

Fun shots of fun times.

I was just thinking the other day, when did the trunk or treats become so popular? I don't ever remember that as a kid. We always had to earn our candy walking all around the neighborhood. I think it is a fun tradition, though. My sister took my niece to her daycare for their event last Friday. I think her trunk was a mermaid oasis, so a little less spooky. It's pretty nasty here today, unfortunately. Though hopefully the weather won't THWART the festivities of the evening for most. ;)

Ahahaha! I think we're thwart-free tonight :) it looks like the rain will hold off until 10.

I came across the concept of trunk or treat the first time about 5 or 6 years ago and thought it was really neat. It's a fun way to let the kids engage in more activities that are more than just house parties.
