Happy Valentine's day to my Steemians friends. It is nice writing us again on this special day dedicated to the course of love and concern. Thank you @steempreneurship for putting up such a great topic to end this season's engagement challenge.

This week's contest topic from the steem entrepreneurs community highlights our record while reflecting the consistent vision and mission while joining the steemit platform. Let's get started using the contest guidelines.

Tell us how you first got to know and decided to join Steemit

I would say that the popularity of the steemit platform has tremendously increased now given the media hype through various social media platforms. Anyway, my first knowledge about the steemit platform was coincidental and unplanned.

I visited a good friend of mine in her shop so as to purchase some of my phone accessories that got damaged. On getting there, I saw a flier on her table which she told me to go through and see if I can decode what it was all about. I inquired about who kept and it happened to be her son. Hence, I decided to go through it and as well got more clarification from the son.

This happened sometime on the 3rd of November 2020 and I finally got engaged on the 6th of November 2020. Firstly, I got interested that it was a blogging activity, and then secondly because it is a decentralized social media platform. A platform and knowledge I've longed to indulge in.

In your opinion, what are the advantages of Steemit compared to other similar platforms

There is a varying degrees of advantages of the steemit platform when compared to other similar platforms.

This is a decentralized platform that allows for no one in charge of the entire system	They are a centralized system that allows a singular authority in charge.
Availability of system that rewards users when they post quality content	Non-availability of any reward system of such
Keys and passwords are solely in the user's custody	Central unity controls the usage of passwords with the user.
Users have the longevity of account usage without fears of being terminated	Users may be terminated and locked out of their account during cases of violation or other issues.

Write down your main motivation and purpose for joining Steemit

Just as I initially stated above, I was driven by some key factors that stirred up my participation in the system.

Firstly, it was the worst of writing or blogging on a social media platform and a decentralized system. Not only do I have the drive to expressly write stories and topics of interest, but it was also a desirable moment for me to learn from the vast space of the decentralized system.

Decentralization which I also viewed to be a major player in the cryptocurrency space, has been a knowledge I have craved for. Luckily, I was privileged to be a staunch partaker of the SteemitCryptoAcadamy classes.

On the other hand, I was able to get rewarded in the system. A system that rewards its users for writing and blogging in it. It is unbelievable but it is live and happening in steemit. This is one singular phenomenon that distinguishes it from other platforms.

Do you intend to power down? or even more excited to power up? Tell us ! and what is your strategy not to lose your club status

The issue of this duo, Power down and Power Up are swords of double edge. They are only different because of the service or de-service they bring when initiated. However, where power-up adds influence in the system and the user in question, power-down reduces one's influence.

I do not have intentions of initiating power down not now or anytime soon. Rather than think of this now, I've always been poised in powering up at least 50% of my earnings. This is the only strategy that would help heal the system and allow it to recover quickly from its low points.

Since I would not want to venture into power-down incidences, it is best to ensure I maintain at least a club5050 status that would allow me to move assets either for investment purposes or urgent personal purposes.

On the other hand, we can ensure that all assets are powered up where we would have to keep off from tampering with our SP.

Write briefly, your goals and hopes with Steemit in 2023

My goals for the year 2023 are simple. Acquiring more influence in the system is the only way to stay influential on the platform. Therefore I would be more interested in building up my steem power to create a balance between power-up and transfers.

In extension, I want to see more achievements by attaining a series of dolphins for the year under review.

Ensuring an active status all through the year by publishing articles at least once a day or worst-case scenario, once every 48 hrs.

To be more connected with my admin role in my country and give back to as many users as possible by reviewing and supporting quality content.

Conclusion

My vision and mission for the steemit platform haven't ended but rather have continued to soar as I maintain my active status. The modus-operandi has mutated over time with the opportunity of becoming better. The days of the crypto academy came and were replaced with the engagement challenge but this duo is both impactful.
