The HandMaid's Tale | TV Show Review...
Oh My World!
Just came from watching the latest episode of this series and I remembered, oh wait, I need to share this on Triple AAA!
Guys! If you are not following this series you are completely wasting your precious screen time! I have been keenly following this series since it began. It's so good you just cannot wait for the next episode to watch what unravels!
You know how some series tend to lose touch after the 1st or the 2nd seasons most of the time? Well, not this one. The consistency in quality, creativity and the story-line is just as captivating in Season 3 as it was in Season 1! I just freaking love it.
To cut to the chase, The Handmaid's Tale is a story of a woman who is forced to live as a concubine under a fundamentalist theocratic dictatorship.
In this small country, Gilead , fertile women are forced to give birth with their masters, for the continuation of the human race supposedly.
Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate. In a desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude. One of these women, Offred, is determined to survive the terrifying world she lives in, and find the daughter that was taken from her. Source
Sometimes it's hard to watch some episodes, especially when the hand maids have to part with their kids as they are taken over by their masters since Handmaids are after all just surrogates for high-ranking couples. I do however love how strong these women are and very determined to make their world a better place.
This series also has some of the best series cast I have seen in a while. If you have watched this already, who would you say are some of those that stood out for you? Of course besides the lead character, Offred.
On a Scale of 10, I'd give this a 9.5, It's that Good Guys! Highly recommend it if you are looking for something to binge watch this coming Weekend!
