Keindahan pantai di Aceh Besar merupakan salah satu daya tarik utama bagi para wisatawan. Di sini terdapat beragam pantai yang tentunya memiliki keunikan tersendiri. Meski begitu, Aceh Besar tetap memiliki tempat wisata selain pantai yang tak kalah menarik.
Aceh Besar merupakan salah satu Kabupaten di Provinsi Nangroe Aceh Darussalam yang dimekarkan pada akhir tahun 1970-an. Pada awalnya, ibu kota Aceh Besar berada di Banda Aceh. Namun, setelah kota Banda Aceh berpisah menjadi kotamadya, ibu kota Kabupaten dipindahkan ke Jantho di Pegunungan Seulawah.
Potensi wisata di Aceh Besar sangat banyak. Tak heran jika Aceh Besar menjadi salah satu kota di Aceh yang perekomiannya cukup baik. Meski menjadi salah satu kota yang dilanda bencana tsunami cukup parah sekitar 14 tahun silam, namun kota ini terus berbenah diri. Beberapa destinasi wisatanya juga telah siap menyambut kita untuk berlibur ke sana.
