A Review of Me-Hectic Work Day -> 14-08-2019

The National Holidays of Monday and Tuesday finally came to an end and yours truly had to grudgingly resume at the office to continue work from where he stopped off from last Friday.

Usually, when there's a long break like these, there tends to be some kind of rush the day succeeding the last day of the break.

In the markets, you see people rushing to purchase some things they didn't purchase before the break. In government offices and parastatals, a lot of people with unfinished businesses before the break will come that day to see if they can complete their pending transactions.

Banks are usually the worst hit. As you may know, festive holidays like these means that a lot of monies would be spent. So before the holidays, people troop into the banks to withdraw money for spending during the festivities.

Once the holidays are over, you see a long line of customers starting from even before the doors to the banks are flung open.

Most of them are there to withdraw while some others, especially market or business owners come in to deposit. Those ones likely made some sales before and during the festivities and could not deposit.

Thus, they rush in immediately after the holidays to pay in their monies. Such was my day today, having to attend to hundreds of customers who came in for one transaction or the other.

Sometimes, you get to meet the wonderful ones, who are as pleasant as possible and listen to instructions you give them. I met some of these and we flowed well.

At other times, you meet the nasty ones who feel like they own the world and so you should worship them. You can tell them apart from the others by their loud bossy voices. For such ones, I calmly delay their transactions for more than is necessary.

And then, you also get to meet some special people that makes your heart miss a number of beats. I didn't meet a lot today, or maybe I didn't have time to fish them out. But there was one I attended to that fit this category.

Unfortunately, she's older than I am and so it's the end of the road for me. But she'd come back tomorrow and I'd be able to tease her some more just as I did today. She sells men's wears and I hope to patronize her soon.
