My Actifit Report Card: October 30 2018 - Dropped Jerry Off / Uploaded My Situation Vlog At Work / Rainy Night Dog Walk
Today I had to take Jerry into town and drop him off with Mel at work so that he could go to the vet. Not a whole lot of time this morning so after a quick pee we headed off driving. Jerry wasn’t so interested in walking anywhere while we were in town as he had so many new smells to explore also he seemed drawn to the kids playing at school. After putting him in Mel’s car I went in Thrifty Foods said I love you to her then headed straight to work while recording a vlog on the way.
When I got to work I edited & uploaded my vlog about that interesting potential suspect situation I had that turned into platform promotion, pretty stoked the staff wifi was able to upload it quickly.
Work was a little bit slower today, nothing went wrong other then having to redo a white dough for unknown reasons. The dough just didn’t feel right and we are better safe then waiting 2 hours to know we are sorry. I did mostly panning and a bit of set up with a fair bit of pacing around waiting leaving an hour early, I’m always eager to leave. Over all it was a good work day but I did need that extra cup of coffee to get me through.
After work I took Jerry out for his normal route this time stopping at the new night spot to record a vlog I have yet to edit or upload, maybe in the morning if I have time. Looking at my step count I needed to make 5k steps to hit the daily goal of 20k I have set for myself so even while recording the vlog I kept on walking in circles.
I started back towards home and realized I needed to do just one more loop around the block to hit that daily goal, of course Jerry started to fall behind in protest. We were out for about an hour in total which I’m glad I put Jerry’s rain jacket on him because it started to pour about half way through and that last loop would not have been possible otherwise. Exploring new smells is always a vital part of one daily routine :p I mean, I try to do it in nature, take in the smells around me, and hopefully they're all as pleasant as the next one. Wet leaves on the ground is a nice smell. Sewers, not so much ;)
Ahh yea, I am fairly lucky I suppose as most of the smells around here are pleasant being surrounded by forest. I couldn’t imagine having the sense of smell of a dog, it would be like a sensory overload having so many new smells each with their own sets of information to go along with it.
My therapist was telling me about one of her patients, he can smell everything. From the food on your breathe from the night prior even after brushing your teeth and even identify the type of soap you use. Seems crazy but that’s what I imagine a dogs sense of smell to be like.

Wow, that IS an insane talent of sense of smell. I can smell certain type of beer, in the sense that either your breath smells good or bad from it lol Smelling the soap you use if something. I mean, I'm allergic to perfume, so if it's scented, chances are I'm not smelling, I'm sneezing, but unscented and smelling the type of soap, that's something else. That guy really has talent.
