Hi guys! Today dawned a bit overcast, but turned out to be an okay day. First on the agenda was Bible study. We had a new gal attend today which was wonderful. I’ve been with this ladies Bible study for the past four and a half years. The lessons are interesting and the fellowship is a perk of our little group. 😇

We went for a hike in the afternoon and did the whole thing. The skies looked like it was going to rain but it never came to pass. I’m having to really search for interesting things to take pictures of right now as the forest isn’t exactly cooperating lol.

So today, I’m going to tell you the story of ‘Spidey, the Trail Blazer’. I first met Spidey about three years ago. You see, here in the Northwest, in August to October specifically, we have an emergence of man eating spiders. They like to build their sticky webs everywhere, but especially for unsuspecting hikers to run into and then have a close encounter with them 🙀! For those of us (specifically ME) who can’t stand spiders, well this isn’t conducive to enjoying a hike. So one day I picked up Spidey. He was abandoned by a tree and was laying on the ground. I picked him up and we forged our relationship. He got to go trailblazing as long as he took out the man eating spiders in my path. He’s been with me every spring and fall since (we get baby spiders in the spring and no I don’t deal well with them either, lol). His handle has been worn to a soft sheen from hiking daily. I would not go hiking without him ( or I’d make my husband go first!). Anyway, he will hike with me for as long as he holds up. He winters in the nook of a tree near the forest entrance and waits eagerly for spring and then fall when his adventures begin.

Spidey taking a break mid trail. Trail blazing is hard work!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little Spidey tale. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day wherever you are!😎🥾🕷🕸

I'm glad you have Spidey, the Trail Blazer to protect you. I'm not a big fan of spiders either.

Hi @emergehealthier! He came in very handy tonight! There were lots of those man eating spiders on the trail!😳

You are lucky to have such a protective friend to walk with, lol.

Funny spider story.
I wonder why the grapes were not harvested on time.
Nice count.

Thanks @ketcom! The grapes are wild and honestly, I couldn’t find another plant, and there are TONS of them, with any fruit on it. Maybe the birds or squirrels just somehow missed this one. I found it very curious. 🤔
