April 8, 2019 - I Can See The Roof

I did lots of walking, running and dancing today. I had fun and was having a great day up until 3:30 PM. Two children (A and B) decided to climb up this stick house whilst I was attending to another child (C) because this child threw a drink bottle at the other child (D). So I took the child (D) that got hurt back inside the room and asked the other Educator to give him an ice pack and just be with him. Then I went back outside to tell the two children (A and B) to get down from the stick house. The child (C) that threw the bottle saw what the others were doing, now she got an idea to climb up as well.

Of course, I had to tell the other kids that it wasn't safe and it was dangerous and they also led a bad example to their younger peers. Also if they would not want to get hurt. I showed them how sharp some of the sticks were as well.

One of the children said sorry to me for not being safe and then said, "Mrs. V., I can see the roof from up there!"

I said, "I know you could see the roof, you were almost there but still, it's not safe. I know it's really exciting, but I just want you to be safe all the time."

He said, "But I didn't get hurt."

Then I replied, "Let's keep it that way then. Don't climb up the sticks anymore, okay?"
