Nothing special today. I went for a little walk and I was enchanted to see the Judas tree or said sillquastro. His name can be easily linked to the ancient belief according to which, to one of his branches, Judas Iscariot hanged himself, ending his existence following the famous betrayal of Jesus Christ. Even today the plant has not lost the use of being widely known by this name. The Judas tree, whose botanical name is Cercis siliquastrum, is a medium-sized tree belonging to the Leguminosae family. Nice is not it?
Nulla di particolare quest'oggi. Sono andato a fare una piccola passeggiata e sono rimasto incantato nel vedere l'albero di Giuda o detto siliquastro. Il suo nome è facilmente collegabile all'antica credenza secondo la quale, ad uno dei suoi rami, Giuda Iscariota si impiccò, ponendo fine alla sua esistenza in seguito al celeberrimo tradimento a Gesù Cristo. Ancor oggi la pianta non ha perso l'uso di essere diffusamente conosciuta con questo nome. L’albero di Giuda, il cui nome botanico è Cercis siliquastrum, è un albero di medie dimensioni appartenente alla famiglia delle Leguminosae. Bello no?
