Not sure why the local council put this duck crossing sign here. This particular stretch of road is reasonably busy and has poor lighting.
They should have placed the sign about 500 metre's around the corner, where there is a narrow quieter road. This would give the ducks a lot safer walking experience in less waddling distance, better sight of traffic and lower traffic volume.
I'm not sure how many ducks and their baby quacks have ran the gauntlet or how high the casualty rate is, but i'm sure it's not pretty.
Sometimes these town planning people just don't have their thinking caps on:)

Good numbers this day. I hope the ducks have good sense to ignore the signs and watch the cars, because the signs have never run over a duck! LOL! 😂😂

Mama duck said “Quack, Quack Quack” and only 1 little duck came back! You are pretty funny! I heard most accidents happen within a 5 mile radius of home. So I am thinking of moving!

Hopefully this will reduce fatalities - never a good day squishing ducks, etc, on the road.
I once took a photo of a dog crossing the road with a dog crossing sign in the background - very pleasing :)

Your signs are very visible, here we don't even see some signs anymore. They have rusted away after like 50 years and nobody has ever thought of replacing them. We have one way road which only residents know about, visit know about it when you have missed the road and people start yelling at you as if it was your fault and you're supposed to know every road in the country. Lol.
that sucks. we complain about silly signs but would be worse with no signs. Would have to find something else to complain about then lol

Black ducks only can cross in that spot according to the sign, where can the other 🦆 ducks cross?
