Daily blog 11 (and actifit)
Today I listened to this conversation with David Wallace-Wells about his book The Uninhabitable Earth.
Shitting hell it’s powerful!
So often in science communication we’re told not to be alarmist, however, David here brings up some very valuable points. We need to start feeling the risk of climate change, really feeling it. We are not scared enough, this needs to be on the mind of everyone and at the forefront of all political agendas. Climate change is an everyone problem, relevant to you no matter your political persuasion.
Here’s a quote that grabbed my attention:
I have no solution for you today (as I’ve been teaching all day and am hugely tired) but it's not too much of a jump to take my academic work and apply it to climate change so it’s never far from my mind. One thing at a time though (the first thing, of course, being wine).
