My Actifit Report Card: August 9 2019

Today was meet the teacher day with my son.
Happy he was to meet his new teacher.
First time I see soo many entrances to the school at the same time.
No parking anywhere.
Finally I got a spot and still got to walk around.
One cool thing with meet the teacher day, parents got to bring schools supplies for the classroom.
Some even brought them in a carryon.
Lately it has become second nature for all parents to spend more than $150 just for your kids and classroom.
I tried to purchase some that I could not find online and Wally World was almost empty.
Still have to give a gift card and a $5 for my son.
It is for a book like a calendar to check his homework.
Glad many parents are involved to make sure the kids get the proper education.
Still up to us to follow up and show that we care.
I did walk a bunch and Got my steps out of the way.
For my area school starts on Monday.
Further South it is the week after.
Funny to see how the school calendar is way different from each county in Florida.
Hopefully they pay the teachers more and help them to stay in the state.

The other day it was on the local news that the football referee get pay $65 per match on Friday night for the high school.
A lot of them did it for the love of the game.
It has become a problem and the association is demanding a good pay increase or no referee for Friday night game.
Can’t believe that $65 per game.
These guys can easily stay home with family.
I heard they were abused by parents yelling at them cause they don’t like a call.
And kids are doing the same.
Hope they fixed it or no football game for high school on Friday.
The guy in charge on my county school district earns per year base salary $350k.
So far he is the highest paid superintendent in Florida.
At the same time there is a lot of responsibility coming with the job and you are in charge of 100k of kids and personnel.
The county did raise the pay to attract better applicants.
On the other hand,
Teachers can barely make it.
I am taking about the new teachers.
If you have been on the job for a while you get a raise through inflation.
Last year they approved a pay raise of almost $10k for all teachers in my county.
He goes also through seniority.
Hope this will slow down the teachers from moving to other states.

My son loves to run.
This school year I will make sure he participate in PE.

I want and I wish a fresh school year for all kids and parents headache free.
