Romeskie walked 5,000 Steps to Get a Pail for the Water |My Actifit Report Card: March 14 2019
Yep, I needed to walk for almost 30 minutes (or more) just to look for a pail for our water reserve. There will be limited water supply in several or almost all barangays here in our city.
Back in the day, people will only hear about things like this in the news or from our competent (not very) barangay chair people. If you are an introvert, you will be the last to know about any scheduked water interruption since you will surely not linger outside the house that much. But since this is the age of information technology, a huge majority of people learned about the water shortage ahead of time. Which is good in a way. But if you're not that quick to act, you'll end up having to walk an extra mile (literally) just to find a pail. I went to several shops but it seems that the public went panic shopping for pails and water containers.
Good thing my husband was able to buy two medium sized drums where I can store our water supply good for one day. Still I want an extra pail. Because sometimes enough is never enough. And because the water is scheduled to be out from 7Am until 12MN.
This means that I'll have to stay up later than usual just to fill up the water in our drums. That is if the water interruption schedule is indeed true.
This also means we will have to conserve water. Good thing our household is already used to conserving water. I soak my daughter's cloth diapers on water before I wash them in the washer. That water is used for watering my plants. I use a basin to collect the water I use for washing the dishes. Anything I collect from there is used to flush the toilet.
I know it's not that much but at least we have pur share in trying to conserve water. I hope everyone learns and tries to do their share. Drought or not, we should all be mindful of how important water is. Because...
