Making Glitch Gif, drawing Pad Thai, and My Actifit Report Card: February 9 2019
I started the day working on my photoshop skills. Something that I've been interested in for a long time is creating glitchy images and gifs so I thought I'd search on steemit and see what I could find. What I found was a pretty nice / easy and simple to follow tutorial by @jameslano (How to create a glitchy animated gif using adobe photoshop). Sadly it looks like jameslano hasn't posted anything in five months, but maybe he'll come back and create some cool new tutorials in the future. Or maybe I'll even get good enough to create a tutorial of my own. Subtle Split is the name of my redbubble store and tumblr so I figured I'd go with that.
EDIT: HMMM... THAT'S WEIRD, THE ANIMATED GIF IMAGE IS NOT SHOWING THE ANIMATION. JUST THE FIRST FRAME. I GUESS, THAT'S ONE MORE THING I'LL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT. WELL, I GUESS YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME THE GLITCH PART OF THE IMAGE LOOKS PRETTY COOL.
After that I worked on a new shirt/image idea. Since I just go back from Thailand recently I thought I'd make a design for lovers of Pad Thai as I count myself in that same group.
I started by getting a really quick basic sketch on paper and then trying to draw out and improve on the Pad Thai drawing on the computer. That was a mistake. I'm not skilled enough yet to really just jump into drawing through adobe photoshop or illustrator, I always have to sketch the image out in a much more complete way, then take a picture of it and then draw it on the computer.
After my false start I've only gotten so far as making a more complete sketch. I'll have to finish it up tomorrow on the computer.
Exercise wise all I got done was an evening walk around a few miles in my neighborhood.
Nice job buddy, when I clicked on the image I got the glitch effect, sweet!

Thanks, and yeah I noticed that too, on Partiko if you click the image the effect shows up, but without clicking the image or if I look at the page using my chrome or microsoft edge browser it is a static image, even if you right click in chrome and say open image in a new tab it doesnt play the animation, so I'm not sure what the issue is.
I was just in PAL discord expressing that not all actifit posts are created equally. They have seen fit to deem all actifit posts as unworthy of their minnow upvote initiative. Here you have offered a perfect example of how bots and human generalizations aren't the answer to making this a better platform. Great work! Just because many actifit posts aren't very engaging doesn't mean one should throw the baby out with the bath water.

Actually the first few times I posted my actifit report card I didn't like just writing out, "well, I walked around a lot today", or "took my nightly jog" so I decided to combine the actifit reporting with a more traditional, "this is what I did today" blog post and liked the results so I decided to stick with it.
Funny enough, I've never been one to do any traditional "this is what I did today" blogging, but needing to post my actifit report card to get any points / steem so it got me into the habit. I'm active physically normally so Actifit didn't really change anything there, but for me, what it has done is it has gotten me to work more on my photography and writing skills so it's been really helpful for me in a way I doubt the actifit team ever planned on.
