Cycling to Iconostasis "St. Peter and St. Nikolas" - Chernomorets
Today with @outlinez and other friends we decided to visit the iconostasis "St. Peter and St. Nikolas" located in the town Chernomorets.
We got on the bikes and drove through Protected Area Poda.
Through Eco Zone "Foros"
And we went to Chernomorets.
The iconostasis is hidden between the rocks, but at the same time stands out from everything else.
The small building was made by the photographer Petar Pankov. Nearly 5 years ago, when he arrived in the city, he saw that the famous sculptor Ivan Mitrev depicted the icon of St. Peter on the rocks by the sea. So his idea came there to build a real iconostasis.
The iconostasis is a small structure with a semicircular roof, and on its three sides is depicted the image of St. Peter.
Initially build it in 2013 but the same winter the iconostasis was destroyed by the sea. A few months later Petar started building it again, but this time with much more stable foundations and much healthier materials.
In order to keep the area clean and to make the iconostasis easier to locate, Petar Pankov has built a stone garbage bin and a small wooden bridge.
The iconostasis is dedicated to "All who talk to the sea"
After making a rest, we went back.
We saw - Belfry (The Old Bell Tower) - build in 1860 and renovated in 2009
On the way back, we passed through Chengene Skale Bay and took a short break to the chapel St. Nokolas.
The characteristic of this chapel is that it was built on a rock.
I managed to enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset.
This day we were cycling 60km
