Disrespected and Removed From the Adsactly Authors for Asking a Couple of Questions

in #adsactly6 years ago (edited)

So I wrote a post for @Adsactly and @Velimir said I went offtopic on the post which is alright, and I said that I will stay on topic next time.

Then he asked me what my profession is and I asked him why, what he said afterwards you can read below.

Exact transcript:

velimir - Today at 9:42 AM
because you should be writing about what you know well.
if you want to write
and also...i ask that each of my writers

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:43 AM
What I wrote about I know well
And for what reason you ask them that?

velimir - Today at 9:43 AM
yeah well.. we dont publish self help, advice, nor psychology

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:43 AM
yeah its Ok, I will remember that

velimir - Today at 9:45 AM
I ask them that so I see what is their general direction, so we can find a nische for each person. So a cook wouldnt be writing about astronomy, nor an online busineess enterpreneur about architecture. Got it? but ofc, you dont need to answer...cheers! (edited)

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:46 AM
so you think a person does not have multiple talents or knowledge?
I am not my job

velimir - Today at 9:46 AM
dude, alright...

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:46 AM
lol are you butthurt?

velimir - Today at 9:46 AM
write your talents someplece else then

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:46 AM
xD, I told you its ok if you don't want psychology and I won't write about it

velimir - Today at 9:47 AM
am i butthurt? are you a normal person to tell me that?

valorforfreedom - Today at 9:47 AM
wow, nevermind man, have a nice day.

velimir - Today at 9:47 AM
nevermind? really nice behaviour.... cheers!

So asking a couple simple questions will result in @Velimir reacting weirdly and disrespectful.

@Adsactly This is not how you handle people. I agree that you guys can do what you want, but you should at least get managers that not just treat the authors like pieces of shit just because they ask a couple of questions.

There are some communities here that do nice things, but I cannot operate nicely with them. Either they have bad people skills in managing people, or they restrict or force authors to change the topic of their natural work, or both.

The communities I respect most are just honest up front. They explain everything you need to know in their posts, so you don't have to ask many questions, or be re-trained.

By the way, I always appreciate finding your honest and frank posts, even when a little salt is thrown. It gets the true point across, and it washes off. Everyone is wiser in the end. There isn't very much in the way of helpful psychology posts here on steemit, other than the rampant complaining I often find.

One should value one's editorial independence, you're so right. I generally mistrust any organisation with an acronym for a name that is too long and comprehensive. When a company claims to have reached such perfection, I start to consider it may be trying to dissuade me from drawing a conclusion independently about it being true or otherwise, by sheer weight of the volume of it's claims. Since coming across this peculiar organisation, I have been trying to hone my skills for writing sentences that force the speaker to take a second long breathe before reaching the end of the sentence, much like I have to do when i say the acronym out loud myself.

I was curiously tempted to sign up for the @exactly re-education camps just to discover what the actual copulation all those words meant in the name, but I found the experience too stuffy, snobby, snotty... zzzz

Ah yes, truly a good run-on sentence can be a well practiced art. Like a comedian telling a series of related hit jokes until the big punch at the end.

Thanks for the comment. You are hilarious.

I laughed so hard at re-education camps, I probably woke up my neighbors lol.

I absolutely agree with both of you guys that an authors style should be respected, after all, that is what makes the Author special.

But this is no loss for anyone guys, I am glad I have met the insanity of Adsactly early on.

I wouldn't even have written this response to Velimir if I wouldn't have developed an instinct to fight back whatever attacks me.

It has become a matter of self-respect, In the past, everytime I didn't fight back in some way against attackers I could feel my self-respect shrinking.

Thank you both for your honesty and taking the time to write your opinion on this matter.

@velimir wtf lol your adsactly group is, by the looks of it, a joke

You don't tell writers off like that especially without raising any valid points.

You don't tell writers off like that especially without raising any valid points.

Asking questions seems to be a reason for him. I heard from other people that they had problems with him as well.

Your post doesn't represent what led to this situation. To appreciate how it led to this, one has to be very perceptive. It is easier when you understand their culture and language - it is all very subtle. The aggression is very subtle. I am glad for you but posting this doesn't advance your case in my very humble opinion, for reasons stated first. Just let them get on with what they do, which is - well, now you know what they do ;-)

Thanks for your opinion and I agree with you.

Next time, someone quotes from @velimir's closing line of the comprehensive and Complete Book of Wise Comebacks (chapter 1, verse 1)

dude, all right

You could send them this to fill out

tks & much appreciated for your upvote on my comment on poetry acc @trumanity - don't upvote me a second time "dude" ;-)

LOL, I am gonna copy that butthurt report for the future 😇

I hope I don't get downvoted for speaking my mind but... I think it was wrong to ask him if he was "butthurt", that's not exactly a nice thing to say.

Then again, the actions do appear extreme by removing you and yes, a man can have multiple talents.

I hope you guys manage to sort it out amicably

You cannot be so sensitive when you manage people and treat them like shit just because there are 100 other writers.

It's simply not good for your own reputation and the reputation of the company that you work for.

I am all for solving this, and it is in the interest of Adsactly to keep their reputation clean.
