The Random blues of Africa: Change is inevictable!!

in #africa5 years ago (edited)

I once enter into an argument that says “if the whites hasn’t come to Africa, would Africa have develop (on its own) or is it our past leaders that sold out?”
I once argued that “Yes” not until I did some research and also brought proofs from different books and experience. Eg “the song of Ocot”
I will start this by asking some question that:

Have we moved on in africa?
africa.jpg

This is a question I want to ask firstly “have we really or can we really show a prove of how we have moved on Africa? There was a time when African were been captured as slaves whereby in the effort of the Europeans, they rule Africa for a long time which in the process, many resources was taken from Africa in order to develop their own countries. Take for example their foods, their technologies, most of the resources used to produce these things are taken from the African continent and they keep maintaining and developing them in order to develop more. But what’s happening the African can’t really take advantages of what they have to get what they want.
These same things also apply to the case of us neglecting or culture to take on to European culture from the instance of:

  • Language
  • Dressing
  • Behavior
Language –
language.jpg

Most African individuals and countries have neglected their own language by making the colonial masters (European) language as a priority. The case of “adopting” English language as their main language throwing their own mother tongue to the bin. This has really spread to the education of the Africans to the extent that without passing English language, there is no way you can gain admission to universities and colleges. There is even assurance in some standard school whereby an individual keep repeating the same class years after years if he or she fails to pass English language.
I would rather say our languages (mother tongues) have been thrown to the bin which is never supposed to be.
This situation even arose to upper rank due to the instance where parent fail to raise up their children with their own mother tongue, but English language. Some children are even been scolded by their parent when they are seen speaking the mother tongue instead of the English language they were been taught. This really affected the children from knowing about the mother tongue all they know is English language. The funny part of it is that they might not really be speaking the correct English.
Meanwhile the real owner of English language will never have it in mind of even learning the language of the Africans than their own native language.

Dressing –
pro.jpg

The issue of dressing has really been a problem in African where the African forget their moral act dressing styles and feel they should always dress up like the European. The Africans mentally most time think they can only be civilized by wearing cloths the Europeans wears. Most Africans even wear cloth that are been view on European television program (cloth showing nudity) showing all the most precious part of their body. They intend to copy the European dressings forgetting the morals of the African continents through dressing. But unfortunately they are getting it wrong not knowing that most of this cloths they wear are just for fashion show only. They don’t wear it outside the public area.
We have not really moved in Africa, most of our culture have been neglected by us, due to the fact that we are still doing our things the way our colonial masters does and funny enough we are doing it in the wrong way.

So why on earth do we look for/ accept independence from our colonial masters, when we ourselves do not really thinking of moving forward without them. I think it’s just useless and not worth given.

Can we really look back and pick our past heroes in the fact that” what ambition and legacies have they achieved which is still in existence till today”?
heraes.jpg

Looking at our past heroes what ambition/legacies have they left for us to follow? I will rather say “None”
Let me for instance use the text “Song of Ocot” where the writer stated the past heroes of Africa with famous short stories attached to them .
Song of Ocot (pg 150)” The Osagyefo is silent, the anthem of United African is drowned by the sound of guns” Looking at this statement, it is analyzed on how our past heroes have oppressed the people due to the powers, and anyone who want to stand up to fight for us will either pay with his life or been jailed. Take for instance, Nelson Mandela, he is an heroes of Africa that stood up to fight for Africans freedom, but before he could achieve his aim, he went through a lot of suffering, and was also jailed for years.
Using this to analyze the text, Nelson Mandela serves as (Osagyefo) the anthem of united Africa is drowned by the sounds of guns(meaning he was tortured and jailed in order for him to stop his actions of fighting for freedom for the Africans) .
Song of Ocot (Pg 150) “Tell me, you student of communism and profession of History” Did Senegalese blood flows in the vein of Karl Max? This apply to how African fear for its own continent and went on to put aside their culture, language and many more in order to embrace the European path. According to the book “Karl Max’ was a professor of communism who was an African but prefer to go the European way not seeing Africa has a good example of where to enroll for his education and philosophy.
With the heroes thinking the best way is to follow the European steps and not the Africans. He prefer to lay his ambition elsewhere other instead of Africa and lastly he never claim to be an African.
Song of Ocot (Pg 151) “we shall build a new city on the hill, overlooking the lake, concrete, steel stone, parks, swimming pools. This tells us about false and unfulfilled promise from our past heroes, they have caused much starvation to death, suffering to the people due to unfulfilled promise. They have really gone for their own self satisfaction instead of people satisfaction.
Song Of Ocot (pg151) “Mohammed Askia Great monarch of Songai, what a hollow sounding names? The Nilotic chiefs labongo and Gipir were famous for their quarrels over a spear and splitting open a baby belly to retrieve a bead!!”
This analyze how cruel African leaders has been to their followers to the fact that many innocent lives has suffered injustice from the hand of people in power, the rich and high class of people and unfortunately most times those labeled has heroes forgetting the wrong past deed they were involved in, not giving justice to the affected ones. Such categories of people consist of the Politicians, Kings and chiefs etc.
Song of Ocot (Pg 151) “As for Shaka the Zulu general, how can we praise him when he was utterly defeated and killed by his own brothers”?
This page quotation really questions the act of betrayal. Though the act of betrayal is everywhere but based on my findings the act of betrayal is much at high rate in Africa. Where mothers betray fathers, fathers betray mothers, brothers betray sisters, sisters betray brothers, even to the extent that parent betrays children all in the name of self satisfaction. In the process of acquiring wealth and fame loved one use each other for rituals and many evil acts which is not suppose to be. The blood of loving one another has really washed away from our heart.
We neglected the word of God that says we should love others like we love ourselves. And all this are not just in existence anymore, it has started right from the beginning of our so called heroes.
Looking at it from the quotations, our past heroes have not really been identified as one who left a good legacy for us to follow.

Are we to blame our leaders for our predicament?
predi.jpg

Looking at it from this point of angle, for me I will say “Yes”
The reason for our predicament is surely from our leaders. Since the ages, African leaders have not really help in this case, I believe that our leaders has long ago sold out our legacy and that hasn’t stop because these same leaders raise troops, that also raise troops that keep selling out our legacies. And this prove to be a continuous act by our so called leaders that have not stop even till today. Take for instance our so called political leaders, we cant point out any one of them to say, this person really stand out among them all, they are just the same and this is caused because of their aim of self satisfaction(selfishness). They all go to power in order to squander and satisfy their belly only, which is not suppose to be, and this has been our doing, The fact that we have already neglected or own culture to take the European culture. There is a time in Africa where the leaders are sworn in using different gods such as Sango, Ifa and more (Nigerians). These gods doesn’t tolerate lies, they strike immediately to kill traitors.
Now let use this process to swear in our leaders, maybe they will not deliver what they promise. But the European style of swearing in leaders has taken over whereby we forgot our own culture.

Should Our Corrupt leader be killed to show justice just like how some Asian country does?
killing.png

Someone close to me asked this question and I told him killing them will never solve the problem African are facing, because these leaders raise troops that also raise troops, the leader keep raising troops that will always stand has a threat to the people, so the issue of supporting that they should be killed will be as if we keep committing sins from the religious aspect. Corruption is everywhere and it does not stop, it keeps going on and on.
Will anybody prove to me that these leaders we intend on killing are the only corrupt people in the country? No…. Corruption is like birth, they keep given birth to it every seconds, minutes, and hours from individuals and group of people. If we should judge by that which means 98% will suffer the consequence and we will keep taking souls every day by day because corruption does not stop. There will be a time the whole place will be full of threat where the corrupt leaders will sit down and meet and even steal from one another which is already in existence.

Is it because we move away from our origin that why we are suffering?
origin_africa_logo_clr.jpg

I would say “YES” since the time the European have decided to take forth away our culture, we have accepted to move away from it due to the fact that everyone of us think if we did not follow the European path as the thing they left in Africa such as moving away from our language to embrace a borrowed language. Dressing way, we are yet not civilized,. But not thinking of how the European have handled and develop their own cultures. But we neglected ours and rely on another people culture. Since then our suffering has started and doesn’t seem to be on its ending part.

Any solution to Africa problem?
solu.jpg

There was a time we hold solution in our hand but we lost it already because we failed to make use of it then. So I don’t think there are solutions coming than to keep on relying on the European till eternal.

Hi @adewararilwan

I just replied to your comment in my recent post related to 1200 SP. Please go and check it out :)

Thank you one more time for reaching out to me. Hope you will enjoy my little support and delegation of 40 SP.

ps
My efforts has been supported by few people and I would like to ask you to give me small favour. What favour is that? Nothing big really. Just open link below and add it to your favourites (if you don't mind).
http://steemit.com/@piotr.delegators/feed

You may wonder what the heck is that? I created this account to follow those few people who delegated Steem Power to me in the first place. Without them I would not be able to support you.

Since they are all passionate about crypto, I decided to help them get new followers and bring more engagement to their posts. So this link is nothing else but newsfeed from their accounts.

I would love to ask you if you could start building your engagement on Steemit from visiting this page and showing your support to them. Anytime you can. Just drop an upvote and some valuable comment. Those guys are really worth our time and attention (plus they are all very responsive).

Every few weeks I will be monitoring who is engaging with them most and personally I will give those people my extra attention. That's my idea. I will do my best to reward those, who are supporting those few delegators.

So it's a win-win situation for everyone. You can get some delegation and support, they will get more traffic and I'm building my influence (since I'm right in the middle of all of it).

How does it sound? :) Hope I can count on you.

Have a great day ahead,
cheers
Piotr

Yeah @crypto.piotr, you have my full support. Thanks man really appreciate your efforts.
