in #agfacademy5 years ago (edited)

Still, in the series of the AGFacademy, that's been seen as the very first platform on the steem blockchain that rewards active steemians for taking part in different football drills that will occasionally be released by the academy. The pioneer of this amazing platform, Andre Gray is an English striker that plays for Watford FC, where he signed a five-year contract with the Premier League outfits and has so far played 24 games and scoring eight goals in the process. The Wolverhampton-born striker was also among the squad that played against Manchester City in the Gameweek 15 of the English Premier League.

Gray's Watford Career

Gray came into prominence during his time at Turf Moore, playing for Burnley in the championship and his 25 goals in that season promoted them to the English Premier League. After qualifying to the Premier League, Gray made his Premier League debut against Swansea city and scored in the next match against last year champions league runners-up Liverpool, in a 2-0 victory in the Premier League. Gray also scored a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory against Sunderland in December 2016 and became the very first player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League in Burnley's history. Gray finished the season with 10 goals in 33 appearances and helped Burnley avoid relegation by finishing 16th in the Premier League.

Gray signed for Premier League side Watford Fc on 9th August 2017 on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He refused the offer to renew his contract with Burnley FC after his contract expired with the club and decided to move elsewhere. His goal-scoring form made Watford FC sign him and since then he has made 24 appearances with the Premier League side, scored eight goals and have an assist to his name. Watford survived and wasn't relegated last season as they finished 14th and are currently occupying the 11th position this season, although they had a strong start to the Premier League this season.

Gray's International Career

With his goal-scoring form for both Luton Town and Burnley FC, Gray caught the attention of England C team and he was quickly named in the squad that played against Russia U23 in June 2012. He was later called into the squad that played against Belgium U23 in September 2012 where he scored his first international goal as a second-half substitute. That win saw the England C team qualify for the International Challenge Trophy. Gray captained the team in a 6-1 victory over Bermuda in June 2013 and was responsible for the team's sixth goal. He won six caps and scored two goals for the England C team and also captained them in their victory over Bermuda in 2013.
