Soccer, it's the sport of legends. Forget what NBA and American Futball fans would have you believe, no sport is as engaging as good old-fashioned footy.

Why do people love soccer? Well that depends on who you ask. In my native country Nigeria and pretty much the rest of Africa, soccer is a symbol of hope, entertainment, and pride. There is no greater joy than watching your favourite club-side or country secure a win, especially over close rivals. Then there's the euphoric delight of watching a skillful player dribble opponents, tactical coaches outsmarting the other team, a skillfully executed pass or finish, even the witty commentary is absolutely entertaining.

It's worthy to note that the UEFA Champions League final is the most watched annual sporting event worldwide. The final of the 2012–13 edition of the soccer tournament drew a mammoth 360 million television viewers. As if that was not impressive enough, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final between Germany and Argentina was watched by 562 million people!

To further emphasize the reach and scope of soccer, the most recent World Cup (Russia 2018) had over 3.4 billion viewers!!

Soccer is a unisex sport with no age requirement. There are many successful female footballers such as Martha(Brazil), Alex Morgan(USA), Hope Solo(USA), Asisat Oshoala(Nigeria) and Birgit Prinz(Germany). You can find a comprehensive list here.

The male counterparts are far too many to list with the most popular names being Leonel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona, and Pele.

Traditionally, soccer is played on a football field. While the competition standard is 11 players a side/team(including the goalie), soccer can be played by any number of people or even alone by yourself. On the competitive stage we have clubs that typically represent a geographical location such as a town, district, city or state. We also have national teams that represent their countries in international matches such as Friendlies or competitions like African Cup, European Cup or the World Cup.

Many aspiring soccer players either go through the process of learning in a Football Academy or are lucky to be discovered by a clubs scout. There are many rags-to-riches stories in the world of soccer that typically involve an unrefined but gifted player being recruited by a big club and he/she returns to uplift the poverty-stricken family(and community).

A good example is the story of Argentina's Leonel Messi, who as a child was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency that threatened his life. Since he couldn't pay, the Spanish Club Barcelona FC who had then realized the young lads' talent decided to foot the bill. Not only did Messi recover, but he also went on to go through the Barcelona Youth System and broke into the top team at just 19 years old. Leonel Messi shocked the world when he scored a hat trick(3 goals in a match) against the most powerful team in the world at the time Real Madrid(dubbed the Galacticos). Today Messi is 29 years old and has won pretty much every individual trophy there is to win in the game of soccer. He was the first player to win the Balon D'or 5 times (a record he now shares with his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo). He is also one of the richest athletes in the world with sponsorships from big corporations like Pepsi, Air Europa, Dolce & Gabbana, and Adidas.

INTRODUCING ANDRE GRAY ACADEMY

As I said earlier, different countries have different clubs competing in them. The top tier English Premier League is the most popular league in the world. Andre Gray is a top English footballer who currently plays as a striker for Premier League club Watford FC. He has also represented his country England at the international level.

Andre Gray went through the rigorous training of the Shrewbury Town Youth System. This prepared him with the basics he used to establish himself on the field and eventually move on to bigger teams and leagues. He has decided to give back to the community by creating an academy of his own with a sponsored program aimed at encouraging fitness.

Soccer is a game that requires hard work, focus, creativity, team chemistry, fitness, and flair. You too can learn, show your love of the game and earn rewards by participating in this program. Soccer is a game with few and simple rules. Anyone can play.

By utilizing the Steem blockchain, the Andre Gray's Football Coaching Academy plans to reach people across the world. Not only does this remove the physical or geographical barrier, but it also allows everyone to have fun publicly or privately. All you have to do is visit the Andre Grays Football Coaching Academy website, and upload a video of you performing the specified soccer drill. They are very easy and can be performed in any open space.
