COULD AIR-CLINIC SOLVE RAMPANT AFRICA'S HEALTH CHALLENGES?

in #air-clinic6 years ago (edited)

Health issues has been a traditional challenge for Africa, most especially the sub-Saharan region. Thousands and millions of people have been victims of malnutrition, diarrhea and other diseases which did affect their lives in various ways. Some are still part of the traditional treatment which can not do much for current health challenges. According to the WHO, only 30 % of the population in Africa make use of modern health care treatment, meaning 70% of the population are still in the dark.

Moreover, Central and West Africa are most affected regions, having leading health diseases as Ebola, malaria, hepatitis A, tuberculous, meningitis and HIV/AIDS. The above cited problems are estimated as being government failures to support and solve health based treatment and care to the people. In fact, most people do blame government for poor quality services, poor health care services where by only few people have access to medical services.

In other words, there is lack of technological and infrastructural advancement towards the development of the above sector. Moreover, due to lack of financial resources, governments tend to provide proxy services but not efficient enough to serve the community.

Furthermore, failure of government should not lead to a failure to provide health services. One of the concurrent disadvantage is that health services are considered as public goods. Meaning, every one should have access to it, thus forming a great milestone for private sectors to intervene and invest.

The use of technological advancement should be further examined and implemented towards solving health issues. this will reduce the cost and time during and after treatment but also makes health services accessible for everyone. On my view, there must be a system which not only provide prompt, efficient and effective support but also a non-governmental governmental intervention platform.

Air-clinic provides and it is believed to solve various health care issues. It is a new technological idea, decentralized and based on the steem blockchain. The blockchain technology aims at removing the third part, thus linking both patients and health workers directly.

Air-clinic offers online and offline support and gives patients an opportunity to chat with the doctors. Other features are laboratory support, pharmacological services, referrals, retrieval of patient's data. Patient's also have an opportunity to find health related articles and journals so as to acquire more knowledge in regards to their health.

Thus, the end result is to perfect and solve rampant Africa's health challenges. We believe that Air-clinic can be a first step towards improving health services, either in the medical field and patient's health improvement.
