HEALING OUR LAND

in #airhawk-project6 years ago

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Chronicles 7.14 KJV

The development of a land is the responsibility of the church in that land. Remember the church here is not a church denomination but the entirety of believers of that land. That being the case, it follows that Nigerian Christians should develop Nigeria. Christians of the various tribes should develop the respective lands God has allocated to them. So Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa Christians should see to the development their respective lands. To expect people from other lands to develop your land for you is laziness, irresponsibility and wishful thinking. It is like expecting your neighbour to come over and sweep your house in the morning. To run away from your land because it is not developed is embarrassing and cowardly.

God wants to heal our land. However, we have to partner with him to make it possible. He is waiting for us to take responsibility for transforming our society. Unfortunately, we don’t even think that developing our land is our job. We blame the unrighteous for not developing our environment. We blame the government. All the while, God is holding us responsible. We even run away from our land waiting for it to be fixed before we come back. We are truly a shameless people!

Commitment
I commit today to participate with God is healing the land he has apportioned to me.

Action Triggers

  1. How much do we appreciate that developing our land is God’s assignment to us?
  2. Why are people comfortable abandoning their lands to head for other places?
  3. What is the hope of a land whose people keep abandoning for other places?

Prayer
Father, help me to accept the responsibility of developing the land you have allocated to me no matter how hard it might be in Jesus name. Amen.

You took the verse out of context. Your conclusions are way off.

God is saying that if the ISRAELITES sinned by abandoning God and turning to foreign gods. And after God disciplines them with the sword, or famine, or plague. THEN if the Israelites, which are the only nation that are his people called by this name, if they repent then God will heal their land FROM THE DESTRUCTION THAT GOD HIMSELF CAUSED. So the rest of what you said doesn't apply.
