The previous history

The need for exchange is present since the human being exists as a social entity, is in fact one of the bases of human interaction and one of the unique characteristics of the human being that differentiates us from other species, we will never see a cow exchanging her milk by grass, or a hen changing her eggs for lodging.

The barter arises from this human condition and its evolution takes us to what we know as money (fiduciary or fiat), a money controlled, created and regulated by third parties in each transaction made with this money, every time we use this money we must go through governmental entities and/or banks, giving them a part of the amount we pay as commissions or taxes that they accumulate and give them a centralized financial power that has created an intense polarization that affects us all. It is so much so, we can see a decision made in the White House, in the Kremlin or in the headquarters of a multinational company can affect our pocket in minutes.

The history of money is long and complex but until about 8 years ago or less the actors involved were always the same four, the one who paid, the one who received the payment, the financial intermediary and the government. Two of of these four actors benefit from being intermediaries and regulators of the system without putting much of their money into play really, they sanction the laws for themselves and they are always associated to obtain mutual benefits, sometimes affecting the people they say to serve.

Governments and money

Governments receive taxes from us, these taxes are the money they use to operate, to pay their employees, for social programs and for the "good" of the country, or at least this should be the ultimate goal, but in some cases this structure has become a corrupt system, with little transparency and very inefficient in deed, there are countries where this structure generates real complex groups of corruption and money laundering with international connections that divert national funds to a few pockets.

This economic power has served in some cases as a restraining way of control, for other countries or for their own citizens, an effective and powerful way to obtain political or economic power and benefits for themselves. To make it more dramatic, the governments are the ones who regulate the economy, sanction the laws, the rules and the regulations about money and economy, and they issue (print) their own fiat money at will as well. Total control for good or bad.

Banks and financial institutions

The others actors involved in this history are financial institutions and banks, they know how to handle their power and knowledge of money very well, they are the ones who using their client's money to generate immense profits they use to increase their own capital bigger and bigger.

The initial objective of these entities was to protect and safeguard the depositories´s money, step by step we have seen how that initial objective has been lost and blurred over time, now we can see how a banker is an enriching profession and business using the money of all of us to make them rich.

Each and every one of the transactions we make with our own fiat money, generates a profit to a financial institution.

Summary: The banks, the governments, you and your money.

Every time you and I pay for something with fiat money, either in cash, with a debit card, with a credit card or by electronic transfer, the bank takes a percentage of that payment for processing. our money and from that same transaction the government takes another percentage for it in as taxes. In other words, we put the money and all the banks and all the governments exist and work with our money. Remember that there are billions of transactions per day worldwide and in each one there is a profit for governments and for banks, this is a HUGE amount of money for them every single day.

The change arrived, decentralization is here.

Things are changing today, thanks to blockchain and the appearance of cryptocurrencies (or decentralized money), this new decentralized money eliminates governments and banks in the financial equation, this is the reason why the two of them are in a fierce battle to try to stop the advance of the cryptocurrencies (something impossible to stop now in my opinion), or to manage to introduce their controlling claws in the new system and continue earning money in it (something that is complicated since the basic principle of cryptocurrencies is the decentralization of economic power which theoretically excludes them almost totally in this new era).

All this is happening now and if we analyze the news every day we will realize that the disruptor power of cryptocurrencies is gaining ground quickly and massively. The change of financial power is becoming more and more present and real, we have to accept this fact and use it for our benefit.

This is how all these events has brought us to today, this shows us the changes and opportunities that have opened up for us as individuals on a planet where the globalization of information and blockchain technology already exist and work.

The challenges we have with this new era.

In my opinion, these events and discoveries put us to the test in several instances, all of them important and many of them already lived by humanity in some way, the big differences now are the speed and scope of these changes and how they are making a change in the poles of power with colossal dimensions like never before.

Some changes in the paradigms and concepts that we know and must re-learn are:

Acquisition of knowledge for the use of cryptocurrencies

These changes require us to learn the basic notions of cryptocurrencies, platforms, their use and what they could involve in our lives for everyday use. Something very interesting about it is that the changes in this area are daily, they are fast, and constant, every day new ideas, applications and technologies appear.

**Understand that cryptocurrencies no longer needs the permission of governments or banks to have real value **

The money since its inception has been the representation of something´s value based on the consensus of many, to understand this I will give you this example, a bill in your wallet, no matter the country or the currency, if we analyze it coldly we can find that neither its weight nor its material are worth what it says in letters that is worth, a dollar bill or five euros bill is manufactured with a paper is not worth a dollar or five euros, it is up to us as a society in consensus we accept that this bill represents what it says is worth.

In essence cryptocurrencies are almost the same thing, with some differences of course, but in simple words, if enough people use them as money, they will become money and their value will be agreed among its users although banks and governments may say otherwise.

Acquire knowledge and habit for the daily use of cryptocurrencies.

This point is interesting because it requires to have understood fairly well the two previous challenges, and even so, it still requires certain technical skills to be able to incorporate the use of cryptocurrencies into our daily lives. We must learn and teach others about Cryptos and their everyday use if we want to add real value to them.

Although this adaptation to new technologies to do differently what we already did normally it is not new for us as human beings, let´s think for a moment in the case of landlines phones and the appearance of cell phones, the only option at that time was a landline at home, at work and/or at the office, we all knew how to use the disk or the buttons to dial a number and communicate with someone, we all knew that there was the possibility nobody was there to answering our call, we knew that we could only call from a landline to another landline, if we were on the road, on an airplane, walking, etc, we could neither receive nor make calls, until one day the cell phones appeared, those devices allowed us to call from any place, even in movement to another landline or cellular telephone, that new technology caused a huge change in our ideas and our way of life, it was possible to realize something normal for us (a phone call) in a different way (using new technology) and that changed our daily life forever.

The adoption of this new cell phones technology never has reached a 100% but it definitely changed the world and it is used daily by billions of us around the planet. The same happened with Internet, with plastic cards to pay (debit and credit), flat TVs, computers, cameras, and I am sure, cryptocurrencies are not and will not be the exception.
