A long while ago, I joined a project on Steemit. It was a contest for a space in the @Sndbox Summer camp. Through this project, I joined a team of people creating the Alexandria's Library Project. I have since withdrawn my application to continue on through the Sndbox quests as I was not able to give all that I got to the competition, but I am still with the Alexandria's Library Project.

I would like to tell you about it and what it is striving to achieve. Why I am passionate about it and why you should consider checking it out. But first, here are some links where you can find more information about the project:

Introduction to the TALP project
Plan of action
Official guidelines

The Alexandria's library project is meant to give more power to creators of quality content. Our goal is to gather information and, yes, hoard it all in one place. Thus, the reference to the ancient great and powerful Library of Alexandria. We want to make a database on the blockchain, from all over of the world. Because, as you know, nothing can be removed from the Blockchain. It will last forever, or at least as long as the world has wi-fi.

Our team consists of 5 individuals looking to expanding the good of steemit platform.

@ihansunrise – Art Quest, Indonesia
@jhnmunoz – Project Development, Venezuela/Peru
@leebaong – Psychology Quest, Philipines
@lindahas – Writing Quest, Latvia
@maxiemoses-eu – Writing Quest, Nigeria

We come from all over the world and bear our own experiences and knowledge but we will be looking to expand our team in the future. We have a goal to become big and I would love to see this project kick off and launch into the moon. We need more quality curation and I believe, if worked on properly, that is what our team could provide and benefit the steemit platform with.

From the beginning of my time on Steemit, I have struggled with filtering and finding quality content. I mean, visit the ''New'' page and goosebumps are imminent. So, I jumped on board with the project the second I saw it. We have curators and trails, and amazing teams. But there are never enough curators and even the big accounts can do only so much... Additionally, each curation team offers something different. Our specialization will be Philosophy, History, Science, and Literature. And we hope to become big enough to make a difference.

There are countless arts in the world and talents that require recognition. By focusing on a fraction of niches, at least in the beginning, I believe it will be much easier for us to find and give the value that is deserved. My goal is to be able to bookmark the @alexandrias-lib page and go there any time I want to see quality. When I have a question about a subject of History or when I want to read a great work of Literature, I want to be able to go to the modern library of Alexandria and soak up the knowledge. I hope to see many, many people featured in the feed because they deserve to be there. To be recognized. I hope my own work gets featured there once or twice. But only when it is at its best!

Libraries are great but the Internet world is unfortunately completely taking over the real world. The issue is, Libraries often have much more solid and well-presented information in them. Wikipedia is great but there is much more information on most subjects that Wiki offers us. Why not grow our own collection of knowledge? Yes, it will be by manual work but it is so worth it!

Here, on top is our current team. And here, on the bottom are some informative bits. We will be creating these tags for each Continent and subject:
#alexandria-philosophy, #alexandria-history, #alexandria-science, #alexandria-literature, #alexandria-america, #alexandria-europe, #alexandria-asia, #alexandria-africa, and #alexandria-australia.

Thank you for dropping by, as always. I hope you have the best day. Today, tomorrow, and forever!
Linda

I can't explain in words how much I want this project to succeed and how important it is for the whole world. I've never heard of it before, but as soon as I saw the name I knew what it was about. :) That's a fantastic work and I support it 100%, I am always into books and reading. People nowadays, especially kids, don't know the true value of a good book. Extending my knowledge is something I thoroughly enjoy doing. I can't imagine a day going by that I didn't learn something new, and that includes today because I've learned about this project thanks to you. :)

Firstly, thank you for the amazing comment!
Secondly, I totally agree. I was one of these kids that basically lived in the library. They ran out of books for me to read there(it was a small place). I would love if such information and stories would be on the internet, for those who do not have access to books/libraries (Internet nowadays is more accessible in some places). Even though I do love to hold a book in my hands, I also think it would be amazing if we had wonderful things a click away. Plus, steemit is so cluttered with... stuff and we do not have enough curator accounts that leave big enough impact.
Thirdly, again, I agree. Every day you ought to learn something new to better yourself!

I like the way you had it put, we will b growing a data base of knowledge as we slide,..............................were you can source any kind of informative resource of any topic spinning around the segmented tag in the text written by @lindahas

Yes! I love databases of knowledge, without bias and with true, useful things!

And thats why I think the team will be stronger with you...... in the mix the structure of the data arragement wouldn't get mix-up

Thank you! :)

It feels good to hear from you...... I am guessing your back home

and settled in good steads.............. your welcome cheers

Very beautiful post
Thanks for the sharing post

Thanks for reading!

To be honest it is indeed a great initiative and will allow new users get recognition through the well developed team of yours.While I would love to get in but if possible can you please check out my blog if I am qualified or not ,as far as I am seeing I am not as the niche of the 4 categories seemed to be not in my forte but still .

While I really thank to the team and they are doing the best supporting the users in their own way.

Thanks for bringing up the topic.

We are just starting the account and it is not active yet in the sense that it is not curating anybody atm. It is in a very early stage of existence. :)

You do quite good job, though. It is a neat blog you have got!

This is a brilliant concept - I love it and I wish you the best of luck on this venture of you!

Thanks! I hope to make the project great and today I am going to look for the first posts to curate here! Very excited about it! :)
