AslansArmy Statement on ChristChurch, New Zealand Shootings.

Aslan’s Army expresses its profound sympathies to the fallen, the wounded and their families following the awful events in Christchurch on Friday 15th March 2019.
Each time one of these events occurs, whether in New Zealand, America, Britain or Europe, it is one event. The same evil perpetrated the same way.

We understand a man called Brenton Tarrant from Grafton, NSW, Australia, is being held under arrest as responsible, along with two other men, and that around 50 people were killed and 50 wounded in shooting attacks on Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch and the Masjid mosque in Linwood.

We understand the man Tarrant abused the internet as well as weapons to broadcast his propaganda of hate: and we are against doing anything he wishes. So we deplore the over-saturation coverage that occurs at times like this. We further deplore politicians, who always rush to capitalise on tragedy, courting publicity by promising new laws.

Whenever these events occur, laws are tightened, but events like this still occur, because murderers do not respect laws.

We understand this man justified himself with some sort of twisted supremacist eco-fascism, but the truth is, no matter his justifications, he dehumanised people into objects to be destroyed. Whatever views he held, its his emotions that led him to murder.

Whenever radicalised people abandon humanity, tragedy occurs. In this, Tarrant is no different than a terrorist from ISIS, or the Red Army Brigade, or a 100 other organisations of killers who thought they were justified to pull a trigger or use a knife to make a political statement to the world.

In these divisive times we live in, it is not more divide we need, but more understanding. To understand innocent lives tragically cut short is an offense to god, no matter who those lives were, no matter what those lives thought.

On that matter, Tarrant has the rest of his days to prepare for a reckoning. He is not a someone. He is a nobody. A failure. A man who could not stay human. He goes to his judgement with our pity for how wretched he truly is. As far from any kind of “hero” it is possible to be.

Aslan’s Army constantly calls for us to find and act from the heart of our humanity. There is a big cultural battle in society world-wide, that must be won, but if it cannot be won with Truth, understanding and Peace, it cannot be won at all.

For any interested, Aslan’s Army has published this statement of position on the question of Islam in modern western society: https://www.patreon.com/posts/aslans-army-on-24587731.

Never in a million years would we EVER support such terrible actions. Our sympathy and our heart goes out, in genuine human sympathy, to all who have lost loved ones in this terrible attack: as it does for all those who lose loved ones to the same evil, far too many everyday.

18,814 people were recorded losing their lives to terrorism in 2018.

In memorium, for everyone.
