Amazon Hit By "Serious" Hack, Resulting In "Extensive" Fraud, Cash Stolen From Merchants
Amazon has come under fire for everything from under cutting sellers to firing employees using automation.
The company nows sees another attack, this time about security.
According to court documents, in 2018, about 100 accounts were compromised. Money was moved from the seller's accounts to other bank accounts. This took place over a 6 month period.
The company believes that phishing took place gaining entry when the seller's entered their log in information.
Nobody is clear how much was taken but the company issued roughly $1 billion in loans. This is presumed to cover the losses by the seller's while the situation is investigated.
