The reason why this ballpark has attained such a name is that its construction is funded by one of the leading companies in Oklahoma that focuses on the converting energy resources from natural gas for public use.

At present, this stadium is a venue for the minor league baseball team, the Tulsa Drillers who belongs to the AA Texas league that plays in the south Central region of the United States.
The stadium is also a venue for the American professional soccer league, Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Since. 2015, this soccer team is the part the professional United Soccer League that plays in the United States and Canada.

The Tulsa Drillers, who previously played in the Driller’s Stadium that is situated in the Tulsa County fairgrounds began to seek a large space that would act as a replacing venue for them. The search for replacement outdoor arena started in 1988. At a point in time, the baseball team intent of moving to a new place become so strong that they all signed an anon-binding unofficial letter to the city authorities which made their intention of moving to the outskirts of Jenks adamant. Nevertheless, the ballpark construction resumed in 2009 when the leading natural gas company of America, ONEOK Inc and ONEOK foundation mutually signed an agreement that they would jointly fund for the construction of ballpark by paying $5 million and will attain the naming rights of the ballpark for the next 20 years.
The ballpark has an official capacity of housing over 7000 fans at a time, but during special events, 9000 fans can easily be accommodated. The stadium has altogether 23 suites and the playing field is dug in 13 feet below the street level. The new outdoor playing arena is entirely different from the one that was situated on the Tulsa County Fairgrounds. It is because the new one is integrated with the urban settings and that’s why the facilities and conveniences provided to the fans and players are more advanced and innovative.
