In the middle of the city, there is a huge Atlanta Botanical Garden where you can enjoy beautiful displays and exhibits of plant collections. It was made to connect people with breathtaking landscapes and nature. It is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m, and you pay $22 for entering the Garden. There is parking available, and it is free for the first 30 minutes, then you pay $1 for an additional 30 minutes.

It contains lovely outdoor gardens and Storza Woods where you can walk on the unique Canopy Walk and look at the picturesque Skyline Garden. In one of the gardens named Imaginary World, you can see giant sculptures made of live plants. They can be over 26 feet high, and they are mostly custom made for the garden’s exhibits. You can especially enjoy this in the night when they are illuminated every Thursday evening which can be very romantic and you can just take a cocktail and enjoy skyline near fountains. The largest piece here is the Dragon sculpture which is made of over 24,000 living plants in the form of a very tall dragon. Going further you will come into Scarecrows garden where you can see handcrafted and very creative scarecrows which are made from locals, children, artists, businesses, etc. You have to take your kids with you as there are fantastic activities for them in the specially made Children Garden, like goblins in the garden when they make fall-themed items, ride a pony, enjoy storytelling every Wednesday about bees, butterflies, etc., or show of their costumes for Halloween. This garden is full of weekend activities for the whole family. Children can watch a competition in October when contestants compete for making the most creative pumpkin head in the Garden. The Garden blooms all year round, and you can find your favorite species using interactive Garden map.
If you would like to enjoy a quiet evening in nature, there is Longleaf restaurant where you can book your dinner. If you wish to organize an event in the garden, that is possible, too. It can be very scenery especially when the flowers bloom. For researchers, there are two libraries with more than 8,000 books and journals. There is also a Center of conservation where they do their researches on the plants, and there are two display houses where you can find orchids of all colors, sizes, and shapes. Every year in spring this Garden is home for Orchid Daze exhibition. Inside the center, you can see laboratories which are not open to the public but have windows where you can take a look at scientists working. Going a bit further outside you will bump into a Canopy Walk which is 600 feet long skywalk where visitors can enjoy looking from 40 feet above in the air to treetops of the last remaining urban forests in the city. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop and take some memories with you.

This garden is truly a wonderland with lots to see and do both for children and adults. It is worth visiting at any time of the year so don’t miss your chance when you are in town.
