Bowers museum; where the interests of the artists and kids are fostered

Located in Santa Ana, 4 miles from the Disneyland, this Bower’s art museum is situated in Orange County, California. The museum exhibits up to 100,000 objects that depict the art and craft and history of various countries and prominent artistic works of Native America, Oceania, and Asia. Most importantly, the museum also showcases Californian painting of outdoors that is a departure from the studio painting and academic rules that give the painting a prearranged look.

At a national and international forum, this museum takes pride in hosting exhibitions from art institutes all across the globe. Moreover, the Bowers Museum has a second campus with the name of Kidseum that is situated two blocks away from the main location. As its name implies, this museum was inaugurated in 1994 and caters to the interest of the children and focuses on the education regarding science and technology which is the prime field of interest among the youth. The learning environment fostered by this 11,000 square foot extension of the main campus, is friendly and interactive. Recently, this museum celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014, with a launch of its refurbished computerized and interactive space.

The Bowers Museum is exempted from any obligation regarding taxpaying and is a non-profit organization. In this respect, all its function, events, educational and interactive programs, events and programs are controlled and funded by the contribution of prominent individuals or well-known organizations. Most importantly, a major part of the funding comes from the City of Santa Ana that gives the museum authority grants annually. There are 32 members in the board of trustees of the museum who have full responsibility of looking after the affairs of the museum. Since 1991, Peter.C.Keller has been the president of the Bowers Museum.

Art of the Pacific island depicts the ritualistic lifestyle of the countries of Oceania through rich artistic work. There is also artwork from China that reflects the 5000 years of its legacy. In this respect, there are around 75 objects of the prominent dynasties that rule China that is the Qing dynasty and the Neolithic Period. These 75 objects that preserve ancient Chia history are one of the permanent collections of the museum. These objects were curated by the Shangai Museum. Art from China and Japan makes the majority of the artworks and relics of the Asian Art in the museum depictions of these countries’ art, technology, culture, history through the sculptures, paintings, pottery work, porcelain, bronze works, mirrors and a lot more.
