This bridge holds the historical and cultural importance of almost 158 years and is an essential and very famous place in the city. This bridge is built in front of the Legislative Assembly of the Sergipe. According to the history; this bridge was not actually a bridge instead an anchor which was constructed to dock the particular ship of the majesty Pedro II who was the last emperor of Brazil. in 1860 the emperor D Pedro II came to Sergipe and for his honor an anchor was built so that the majesty could use it as his anchorage but at that time it was made with wood and later it was renovated into a more beautiful thing with the help of glass and metal and was given a more English look, but later two stonework turrets of two figures which represent the sculptures of the Indians were installed on the two pillars which symbolized the culture Sergipe. All this happened from 1904 to 1923. In 1904 because of its English look, it was called the English bridge or the metal bridge. 1923 was the last year when the whole facade. This bridge is the most visited place in the city of Aracaju. It is a part of the uniqueness of the capital of Brazil and is almost mandatory for all the tourists to visit this bridge once if they are visiting Aracaju. There are small festivals also held at the Pedro II Bridge which are also free for everyone. The colonial architecture of this bridges is yellow and white and has a short passage which leads towards the sea, it doesn't, however, go a long way into the sea but it is still built over deep seas have a beautiful roof on the top. Today the Pedro II Bridge is used as an attraction but in the past for many years after it was made it was still being used to dock ships. This place is ideal for walking on the bridge and enjoying the surrounding view.
