The Sabiá Park is a park and zoo, located in the East Zone of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Sabiá Park is 1.8 million square meters and is located between Tiberia and Santa Monica districts, with access to both regions.

The park has a significant green area, dam, forest, hiking trails, hiking trail, and leisure equipment, receiving an average of 10,000 visitors a day. On Saturdays and Sundays, the average reaches 25 thousand visitors per day. The park is municipal and administered by FUTEL - Uberlandia Foundation of Tourism, Sports and Leisure, which is a foundation of the city hall, under the mandate of Paulo Piau.

In the decade of 80 still under the military government, the mayor Virgílio Galassi pertaining to the Arena dictated positively the development of the municipality of Uberlândia. With the emergence of the Federal University of Uberlândia in the Santa Monica neighborhood, the owner of the lands Segismundo Pereira made a donation of their properties to the city.

In 1981, on May 27, 1982, one of the first departures of the park was inaugurated in the complex. Sabiá Park Stadium was the scene of a Brazilian national team defeat on the national team with a score of 7-0 to prepare the World Cup of the FIFA World Cup of 1982, a paying public of 72,733 marked the largest public of the stadium to this day.

Months later, on November 7, 1982, the entire complex was inaugurated; which today has a superior structure but maintains a developmental spirit linked to the environment and leisure. The zoo was created due to the need to promote, enhance and preserve the Brazilian fauna and especially the cerrado and Atlantic forest, biomes characteristic of the Triângulo Mineiro region. The enclosure of the animals is a fenced area of the Park, because various animals such as ducks, peacocks, tepees, bales, capybaras, monkeys, among others also live loose in the forest reserve of the park, preventing anyone from escaping to other areas of the park.

The enclosure is extremely wooded, being more than 300 cataloged species of vegetables and 200 species of animals. The zoo has authorization from IBAMA to operate, obeying the criteria presented in the legislation, ensuring the good state of preservation of the animals. All animals are kept in appropriate enclosures, giving each species adequate survival conditions. Those who visit Parque Sabiá can admire the beauty of several species. In order to guarantee the good survival condition of the animals, Futel maintains a team of veterinarians and biologists in the park with attention to them.

The Sabiá Park complex has an Environmental Education Center, whose main objective is to promote the importance of preserving the environment. The "Environmental House" is open from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and offers lectures, videos, courses and theatrical presentations to schools and park goers, as well as the development of works that make people aware of problems in the park and animal abuse.
