Almost next to March Air Reserve Base, close of Morona Valley in Riverside, California, the March Field Air Museum is a place where aeronautics and air travel artifacts, archives and the role of an air force in safeguarding the United States from outside invasion are preserved and shared with the guest.

Since its opening and founding in 1979, the museum has been transferred twice from his existing location. When it was opened for public three years after its establishment, it moved to a new site that was the former Airforce base commissary. Till 11 years it continued to be operated from this location, and it was not until 1993, it moved back to its original place and has been operating from there to the present. The present location of the museum is the western part of the runway at Interstate 215.

The March Field Air Museum is controlled and monitored by the United States Airforce, and after it re-transferred to the current location, it became a non-profitable organization in the year 1996.

The indoor part of the museum showcases some very impressive exhibits that include a flight emulator, and you will also get to see the part of Boeing B-47 that was pictured in the film the Strategic Air command where Jimmy Steward played the lead role. Moreover, there are also some movies that are played on recurring schedules.

Regarding air force crafts and arms, you will get to see big German guns and fighter planes, bombs, and missiles cross-sections.

The museum also pays tribute to the concept of dogs in warfare because in ancient times, the dogs were given military training as well and they were the most faithful and helpful soldiers in war. This concept of training dogs is still used by some military forces as well. Moreover, those military officers and personnel who have distinguished themselves by offering through their heroism or have given extraordinary services and accomplishments in the military platform are awarded with Distinguished Flying Cross medals. So the museum also commemorates those people who have been awarded with such an exceptional level of recognition.

Once you commence your tour to the museum, the learned docents will always be at your service narrating the significance and historical background of each aircraft or military artifact. Once you pay the admission fees, you will see notable displays of aircraft and weapons inside the museum in its main area. Outside there is a flight line of aircraft and fighter planes, and your paid entry will cover the outside area as well. With an additional fee, you can tour the museum through an electric tram ride.
