The USS Arizona Memorial is located in Hawaii's Honolulu at the Pearl Harbour. It is a renowned marking place of eleven hundred and two sailors out of a total eleven hundred and seventy-seven sailors as well as marines that were killed at the time of surprise Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbour. It also commemorates all the various events of the same day, 7th December 1941. This particular attack and the island of Oahu attack let to the direct involvement of the United States in the Second World War. This memorial was built back in 1962, and since then it has been visited by over two million visitors annually. It is accessible only via water boats.

Back in the year 1980, the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center was opened for the convenience of the visitors. The National Park Services operate this center and helps the visitors with shuttle boat services that run from and to the memorial, historical details related to the attack, and all the other general visitor services. Back in the year 1989, on May 5th, the sunken remains of the battle were declared a National Historic Landmark. There are majorly three essential parts of the memorial. They include the entry, the shrine, and the assembly room.

The USS Arizona Memorial was devised by the renowned Honolulu architect named Alfred Preis. The navy of the United States had precisely specified that they wanted the memorial to be in a floating bridge form that would be on the ship and could comfortably accommodate two hundred people in a go. There is a one hundred and eighty-four-foot long structure that features two peaks at either end. These peaks are skillfully connected using a sag in the structure's center. This has a great significance. It signifies the great height of the pride of the United States before the war broke out, the sudden depression of the nation post the attack followed by the greater rise of power of the United States after the war got over.

The cost for visiting the USS Arizona Memorial is 22.50 USD for adults and 15.50 USD for kids of age group 4 to 12. The admission cost includes a narrated tour of the USS Arizona Memorial, admission to both Pearl Harbor Virtual Reality Center and the USS Bowfin. It was initially known as the squashed milk carton design.
