What Is The Meaning Of The 4th Of July?

in #anarchy6 years ago (edited)

On July 4, 1776, the Act of Independence of the United States of America was signed, it was a historical fact and very important for the present time, in this post, created specially for the Contest made by @informationwar I will speak and give my opinion as a foreigner about the meaning of this day that changed the world and serves as an example for us to follow.

Because this is a purely opinion post, because of the contest rules, I will not go into history details. For me, the Fourth of July has two meanings, one very different from the other, one is the meaning it had in 1776 and the other is the meaning it has today, the Founding Fathers had in mind to create a nation where the right to freedom, property and life were something non-negotiable, and so they did, the founders were Minarchists and Classic Liberals, they believed that the government did not have to have the power to restrict the freedoms of its citizens, they believed in a small government that only dealt with security and justice, they believed in a society where people had the freedom to do what they wanted as long as they did not harm anyone or violate their rights, it was Thomas Jefferson himself who once said "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." In fact, even founders such as Thomas Payne considered that "Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one." referring to the state as the main enemy of these principles, but nevertheless, they considered it necessary, at least to unite a nation.

July 4, 1776 was not only a great victory, but the creation of what would be the model country of the world and therefore a model to follow due to the combination of freedom and prosperity, this meaning has been diluted over time, along with its principles. The idea of freedom that the founding fathers had gradually drifted away and little by little the politicians began to "change" the term "Liberty", until what it is today... Freedom equals not fireworks, I am sorry to tell you, today people live without really knowing the meaning of freedom, many celebrate independence and freedom when they have a government on their back that oppresses them and at the same time their freedoms are quite limited, it is more a matter of the fact that the issue of "freedom" has been relegated to the background, now national pride and "loyalty" to a government and politicians who always seek personal gain and power prevail.

The meaning of the 4th of July has been lost, it no longer really represents the celebration of being Free and Independent, it is about celebrating the illusion of being Free and Independent, the politicians have been in charge of restricting freedoms and increasing their powers, something contrary to what the founders wanted. Because of this, many people are blinded by the thought that they really live in freedom, when they really are not and will not be as long as the government continues to steal the fruits of their labor, as long as they continue to spy on them, as long as they put you in prison for "crimes" without victims, as long as they tell you "Of course you are free... If you do as I say," among other things.

The United States of America was the radical proof that freedom, when put above all, leads to unimaginable prosperity. Now it's proof that without it, everything begins to fail, little by little. Achieving The American Dream was a clear demonstration that people are willing to die for freedom, just as Patrick Henry was willing and able to say "Give me Liberty, or give me Death", the millions of people who risk going to America from all over the world, far from their homes, risking to fail, to be rejected, to suffer and even to die just to have the possibility of being free, but not "free", the real desire to be truly Free as the Founders thought, Americans, your country is a wonder, Do not give up what was given to you so easily thanks to the heroes... When freedom is lost, it is very difficult to recover it, so do not let their dream die.

In short, for me the Fourth of July has two meanings, Freedom and False Freedom, also called Illusion, America is a great country, but it could be better if the politicians tried to maintain the Libertarian principles of the Founding Fathers, but they won't do it, for obvious reasons. Therefore, it is up to you, American friends, and I wish you all the best with it. Peace!

It is way worse than this statement. The truth is people are so use to just believing that they have trouble knowing the truth. The truth is that Agencies are really Satanic organizations. The illusion is that we need Government when in fact what we need is the people to for-fill their role as Government. The agencies are supposed to be our (Governments) servants and we through our committee's of safety are suppose to Govern. We have not been and that is why the illusion is working.

Thomas Jefferson said: "I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education.

"Independence is the recognition of the fact that yours is the responsibility of judgment and nothing can help you escape it — that no substitute can do your thinking, as no pinch-hitter can live your life — that the vilest form of self-abasement and self-destruction is the subordination of your mind to the mind of another, the acceptance of an authority over your brain, the acceptance of his assertions as facts, his say-so as truth, his edicts as middle-man between your consciousness and your existence. Ever been to NH?

I suppose you mean New Hampshire, so... Nop ^^

New Hampshire is great, adults dress up for Halloween, at work! You can ride a motor scooter on the highway with no helmet or insurance while smoking a cigarette and not paying any income or sales taxes. The license plates say "live free or die".
