In the big picture, Bitcoin holders don’t have to think much about it.
The MWC airdrop WILL have material value - as an incredible amount of time, money, and effort has been put into creating the BEST MimbleWimble coin – to hand out for FREE, to BTC holders.
Grin and Beam, which have been listed EVERYWHERE amidst significant hype, are FAR inferior coins from an investor standpoint – and when all is said in done, may well prove inferior technologically, too, to MWC. Frankly, I expect all three to do well – but only MWC has limited supply, an in-kind dividend, and FREE distribution.
By “big picture,” I am referring to MWC’s investment merits. Not only is claiming it a no-brainer, but the dev team has gone to great lengths to make it as easy, and safe, as possible. So much so, they actually submitted a BIP for further airdrops, that was accepted by the Bitcoin community.
However, the BIG picture relates to the inevitability of MimbleWimble being incorporated into Bitcoin. Perhaps it will be contentious – as technology has not yet been invented, that would prevent its incorporation via hard fork. But perhaps it won’t be contentious at all, when the Bitcoin community recognizes MimbleWimble introduces a 3X scaling improvement over the existing protocol, with full, mandatory privacy and the resultant fungibility. Or heck, maybe it will one day be integratable via soft fork.
The process of debate, acceptance, and incorporation could take less than two years – or perhaps, more than five. However, it WILL eventually occur; and holding FREE MWC coins - in the process, collecting MWC HODL dividends; BTC holders will passively support growth of the most revolutionary technology in crypto history…at least, since the Lightning Network, which itself is MimbleWimble compatible.
