in #animalphotography5 years ago (edited)

Greetings, dear friends! I invite you to join my walk through the zoological park of the city of Rivne, Ukraine. This vast territory of the animal kingdom will decorate your day.

I want to share with you my impressions of meeting this wonderful zoo and its inhabitants. There are a lot of impressions. Every year we try to get into this zoo.

People often have sympathy and vice versa, dislikes for some species of animals. Perhaps, after this journey, you will change your opinion about certain types of creatures from the animal kingdom.

I will not give bare encyclopedic data. All this you can read on the Internet. Those feelings that I experienced when meeting with animals, associations, that's what makes me go further. This is something that cannot be read, this is something that needs to be experienced, felt by each cell of the spinal cord.

If you were absent at the beginning of the journey, join in!

Our journey began nine days ago, today, the tenth day. On the links that I gave below, you can get acquainted with such inhabitants of the zoo as pelicans, meerkats and the black-and-white rough lemur, African tortoise, horses and ponies, porcupines, nasua, tapir, capybara and lama-alpaca.

After exploring the lamas-alpacas, we went to visit other guests from the Far East, these are lovers of mountain slopes, fluffy Siberian tiger.

Not far from the enclosure where the llamas are kept, we saw a wooden house with two entrances. This house was on high stilts. Similar houses are built by hunters in the forest. Of these, you can conduct aimed shooting at boars and other objects of hunting.

We went up there. The wall opposite to the entrance was transparent, it was a huge window that looked towards the aviary. We did not know who is contained in this aviary. But after a few minutes I saw a yellow one, with black stripes on my back in the bushes. I realized this is a tiger.

The first thing I did was look carefully at the glass that separated us from the predator. It was all scratched, it was organic glass. In principle, organic glass is quite durable, but I'm not sure that for such a big cat it is a reliable barrier. I would like to see something stronger. If the children who come here were able to scratch the glass with their nails, then what can a tiger make with its claw. Encouraged that we are not the first. Scratches on the glass have a bad effect on the quality of the pictures.

The tiger came out of the bushes and appeared before us in all its glory. He behaved like an ordinary cat, which decided to rest in the shade of the trees.

He was very hot, like us, there was poor ventilation in the house, he looked like a Finnish sauna. In this, we were on an equal footing with the tiger.

As it turned out, there are several tigers in this aviary. When the second tiger appeared in the arena, the rest was over.

The second tiger was less lazy. He felt our smell and began to make circles near the house where we were.

The emergence of a second tiger, forced to rise from the ground, the first tiger.

Now, they both turned into hunters who know that prey is somewhere nearby. The first shot, I will never forget the look of this tiger. There was something in it that is difficult to describe in words. There was no request for help, no, it was a look full of strength and arrogance. He looked at me like food.

I had a twofold feeling after visiting the tigers. On the one hand, I was happy that I took a lot of pictures. On the other hand, I felt like an accomplice of those who captivated these freedom-loving animals. We will never be friends. Exceptions are, but very rarely.

We went further, and the tigers, left alone, laid down to rest in the shade of the trees, soon, they will have a new reason to go hunting.

We saw the Siberian tiger, we are going to move on, many more interesting things await us. To be continued.

The zoo is located at the exit from the city of Rivne towards Kiev. The street is called Kiev.

Tickets at affordable prices, a children's ticket costs a little more than one US dollar, for adults, tickets cost about two dollars.
