Mule Deer Munching in the Meadow

Mule deer get their name from their large ears, like a mule's, as this doe is demonstrating. Native to western North America, I came across this one munching in a meadow at the edge of an aspen grove in Rocky Mountain National Park. Although mule deer are known for hopping on all fours rather than running, this one was quite content to eat and ignore me so I was unable to get photos of that. Hope you enjoy!
