Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari, Shimoga - Part 2

Located at a distance of  about 10 km from Shimoga, the Tyavarekoppa Lion and Tiger Safari is spread across almost 200 hectares of land..

It is said that this place rehabilitates rescues Tigers and Lions rescued from various circus across India.. Its actually an open zoo which was started in 1998..

Quick Facts:

Timing of Sanctuary: It's open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:15 PM to 5:00 PM except on Tuesday's and national holidays..

Photography and Video: Allowed without any extra charges..

Best time to visit: Throughout the year!!

You can spend a good 4 - 5 hours here.. Rest rooms and a small restaurant too is available..
