Black Snakes Matter!!! Caught this big beautiful majestic Black Rat Snake yesterday.

So after doing all my morning chores yesterday I needed to get out of the house. So I decided to go for a walk. I make it up the road not far at all from the property when I see this big black snake slithering across the road. What perfect timing to be going for a walk!!! My heart started racing with excitement! I pulled out my camera and started filming this short video. He didn't even try to get away from me.

The snake was HUGE!!! I've caught a few black rat snakes in my day but never this big. He wasn't quite 6 feet long and I got the measuring tape out to see. I wanted to know exactly how long he was. I measured out 5 feet. As you can see he isn't stretched out all the way even at 5 feet. So my guess is he is around 5 and a half feet long. The only other black snake I ever caught bigger then this was when I caught an Indigo Snake in Florida when I was a little boy growing up. I was about 10 or 11 years old.

I let him slither around the yard some so I could get some more good pictures of him.

Of course I had to bring the snake in the house. Believe me when I say that my wife @bridgetmartin wasn't happy at all about that LOL. I put the snake on the bed to see what the kitties would do. I got this good picture of the snake and Stella. She kept trying to sniff him out not being scared at all of him. In fact she wanted to play with him. She thought the snake was a new toy I brought her HA HA.

Now to enter this snake in Papa Pepper's photo contest. I'm sure he will be thrilled!
