This is the last day that we are with only 4 in our new home
Tommorow morning we finally will get our puppy golden retriever, we are expected to pick him up at 09.00 AM, so we are all really exicted.

It has been more then 7 years since we have to say goodbye to our big labrador Ozzy, and before him we had a other Labrador named Bo.

Bo

Bo was a story apart... When we got Bo he was already 7 months old. He lived with a family at the back of the house of my wife's aunt and uncle. They called us one day asking if we were interested in a dog, their neighbours discovered that one of their childeren was allergic to dogs so that had to let him go.

We weren't looking for a dog in the first place but when they called and asked us we agreed to have a look....stupid mistake because when you see such a lovely and beautiful dog in his circumstances (he was already brought to the pound) it's hard to decide not to take him, so we did. We wanted to give him a great life, the life he deserved.

Bo had a lot of bad luck in his too short life. At first his first owners weren't allergic in any way (we found out later) but just loved puppies and left the dog when it got to big, they thought it wasn't fun any more. For me they should forbid that kind of people to have animals at all.

When he came with us he raised a lot of problems because he missed any training in his first 7 months, resulting in a lot of damage in our house, he demolished a lot. But we (or I) thought the dog had a problem with being alone , he felt left behind.... So we went to an extensive dog training, it took a lot of time but we managed to gain his trust and we had so much love and fun with him. Then disaster strikes, when he was 4 blood cancer was diagnosed which he couldn't recover from so we had to put him to sleep way too early. It caused a lot of pain in our hearts... he was such a great friend.... I still mis him when I think of him...

Ozzy

Ozzy came into our lives just before the birth of our oldest son, so we had two babies in our home :) He was a labrador too.

We got him as a puppy and had our hands full of his naughtiness, look at the picture above, isn't he adorable..

We did a lot of training with Ozzy (yep named after Osbourne) and he was a great dog. Our kids loved him and played and walked with him whenever they could. (although he was to big for those little ones at a point).

Unfortunate Ozzy only achieved the age of 8 (which isn't old for a Lab) due to skin diseases... And honestly, that was the hardest I ever had to do... To tell my kids we had to say goodbye to Ozzy.... Thinking of it still gives me the shivers and tears in my eyes..... Luckyly both kids have great memories of Ozzy and are still talking about him....

Bassie

Me and my wife had sworn never taking another dog again, the pain of saying goodbye was just to hard for us (twice)... But we changed our minds some time aga when our youngest asked us if we could get a dog. He already asked us for years, he even borrowed dogs from friends of us to walk and pet them... My wife and I decided that when we were moved we had the space for a dog to have a excellent life, a great surrounding and so on, so we asked Sam (our youngest) what kind of dog he wanted. He wanted a Golden retriever, so we went looking for a pup and there he was (although at that time he still had to be born) Bassie.

So there is Bassie... Our newest family member.... We going to pick him up tommorow and we are all excited... I think he will get all the love he needs and we get a lot of love from him.... Our youngest can't sleep at the moment of all the excitement... :)

I will post some pictures soon once he is used here... But most of all he is most, most upper most welcome :)
