Disney: and they lived a long and unhappily ever after.
I wrote about Disney a few times but I really like to find a curiosity in the web about animation. I could only do that!
- Disney's fairytales end always with the same happy ending and allow children to believe that once you overcome adversity, you can live happily ever after. Adults know that this is not true.
New York artist Jeff Hong created a series of works in which he presented the heroes of popular fairy tales in a more probable setting. "Unhappily Ever After" tackles important social problems - ecology, racism, animal testing, violence against women, destruction of entire cultures, hunting, air pollution, rape, poverty, depression and many more. You can get familiar with Hong's work here: http://disneyunhappilyeverafter.tumblr.com/.
It's really worth seeing all these graphics and thinking about how miserable the fate of Disney characters would be if they lived in a real, especially modern world.
- Make-up of Disney princesses is probably the most popular type of content generated by Disney fans on the web. Some are very up-to-date, others are simply banal, others are going into eroticism or criminals. Princesses are pregnant or take care of babies, breastfeeding, styles from the '70s, postapo cope, they get older, they play erotic costumes, they look like characters from the Star Wars universe. Once they are realistic (in a package with black characters), other times they look like characters from the manga (fans of "Sailor Moon” invite you here: https://m.facebook.com/pg/DracheaRannak/photos/?tab=album&album_id=489175227784092.

The American artist Andrew Tarusov proposes something different: he draws famous Disney characters in a style reminiscent of Tim Burton. You can find more of his works (including the Star Wars characters) on Facebook and on Instagram.
- Okay, we already know how Disney characters would look like made by different authors. And what would the animal heroes of these animations look like if they suddenly became human? Check it out (if you like this idea, here a proposal from another artist within the same subject)! https://www.demilked.com/disney-animals-reimagined-humans-drawings-alaina-bastian-s0alaina/
- I really like aesthetic movie posters. Unfortunately, there are relatively few of those in cinemas. It is much easier to look after some sort of abomination of those that scare from the walls of multiplexes.
Fortunately, the independent artists save the situation. These often give up the obvious and allow themselves to play with the convention. Rowan Stocks-Moore, a graphic designer from Liverpool, has created a collection of posters to extract the essence of popular Disney cartoons. He did not give up the element of surprise by using optical illusions! Do you notice the faces hidden on the Snow White poster?
You can see Rowan's works here: http://rowansm.tumblr.com/. On Etsy you will find all the works of this artist!
