The Dumbest Argument for Antifa

Antifa chose a good name..."Antifa means 'anti-fascist', so if you are against antifa, you are a fascist by definition".

This is true to the same degree that being against the Democratic Party (from the left or right) makes you anti-Democracy. Or being against the Republican party makes you anti-Republic, or being against Socialism means you are against society, or being against the Libertarian Party means you are against Liberty.

You can't just name your movement something and have it automatically truly represent that cause. These same people suddenly realize this when it comes to National "Socialism". Even if they do represent a form of anti-fascism (they do), that does not give them any sort of monopoly over the idea. This whole argument is often used to side-step the fact that antifa is overwhelmingly an Anarcho-Communist group. I can criticize that ideology without being a fascist. The majority of people who fought actual Fascism and Nazis were not AnComs, in fact very few were. It is obviously possible to be anti-fascist without being an AnCom! This idea is so idiotic that half of me hopes an alt-right group forms an organization called "opposed to fascism" or something like that just to troll this argument.

I know this is a short article, but I've been seeing this argument recently and it drives me crazy. The people making this argument are either stupid, or are willing to overlook some basic logic for the sake of their cause.
