APPICS - The Next Generation Social Media Network You've Been Waiting For

Dear Steemians,

Do any of you have an Instagram account? How many countless hours have you spent glued to your smartphone perusing this app? I have spent many hours, hundreds, on this app trying to gain a following and many more hours posting, commenting, and liking other people’s posts. While I somehow managed to get up to around 23k in followers, it took me years of constant posting and commenting to get that far.

The rewards for all my efforts?

$0. Zero for the hero.

Now that is about to change.

Visual content displayed in an easy-to-use app is the most successful technology for mobile and Instagram has proven this. Instagram was one of the first social networks to recognize that photography is the key and created their application based on this and would later include video.

The fact is 90% of the data absorbed by the human brain is visual. We are in fact visual creatures and the science behind it prove this! Instagram managed to take advantage of this fact, built an app that appeals to our minds, and combines our favorite activities into a social media revolution.

Now, I might seem like I am pumping Instagram. I am a photographer after all. However, it sucks in one regard. It is sucking up my time and energy while not rewarding me anything in return. The only people that benefit from my photos and content are FB and Instagram and they are making billions. I do not want to contribute to the companies and shareholders pockets any longer. Since I have joined Steemit I have spent most of my time here and away from FB/Instagram.

There is a lot to be excited about this upcoming platform. As a photographer and content producer, I want to be rewarded for my efforts. I do not want my time and effort going to the pockets of a centralized corporation like Facebook. I will be saving some of my earnings here and hopefully get in with their next ICO round.
