6 Story Aquaponics System!
Hey everyone, we recently took a nice drive out of town. Around 10 minutes to my surprise and dismay this monstrosity going up...
What is this you may ask?
A massive glass house? Well yes, technically, BUT for food. A glorious expensive highly technologically advanced aquaponics grow house with massive extraction fans and a cherry picker to boot.
I have built many aquaponics systems as well as an ardent supporter of any food growing 'off-grid' technology and certainly no better way exists to grow food than aquaponics.
This setup must have cost millions and for now, sadly, we were not able to get any closer than this. We went to the entrance of this enterprise and got hold of the owner on the phone. Sadly he did not allow us in as this was still in the construction phase but did assure me I could pop in around 3 months from now, which I shall do and blog!
Back to the cherry picker? Technically they should have called this a lettuce picker as this is currently what they are growing in this system. These pipes go to around 6 stories high and the only way to access and harvest these vertical grow crops are with a crane (cherry picker)
I shall be making regular visits here in future and hopefully get some nice pics of the grow-op in side.

This is such a wonderful way to keep a sustainable growing season. I have tried hydroponics and would love to expand it with a bigger footprint, but, will probably have to wait for another house.
((sigh))
But, this is a huge place and I can hardly wait to see what it is like when complete. Thanks for sharing this!

Hey my friend sorry I missed this one... Its amazing .. you should try aquaponics so much better than hydro. I started a traditional veggie garden at my new place, but I want to get into Aqua again. Have a lovely weekend x x x
If you have the system, that is cool, but, I do not have enough room to set aside for that. Hence, aquaponics.
I went to a seminar on hydro and the fish and it was pretty cool...even started one here, but, shifting back to aquaponics because of space. Thanks! @craigcryptoking
