World of Warcraft Classic
Blizzard finally did it! A world of warcraft vanilla (now know as classic) official server is finally coming! Players have been asking for a official Classic server as far as I can remember since I joined the game and community back in 2008 and since the official announcement back in Blizzcon 2017 and the release date we got 2 weeks ago, it has been a wild ride! People all around the sphere are excited and building new communities and planning for the game.
The release of the game is expected to attract at least a couple millions of players, this is a lot for an old game that came out almost 15 years ago and especially amazing since it's a game that by default everyone knows 100%, we know there won't be any updates and all the secrets are out, but the excitement is there anyways! In fact the world of warcraft subreddit was being so spammed with classic content that there was a decision was made to split the subreddit into 2, one for retail wow and one for classic wow and the new classic wow subreddit managed to get over 100k subs in no time at all!
This is no small feat for a re-release of an old game, or so everyone thought but actually, the new World of Warcraft Classic servers are not based on the old files of Vanilla wow, those where lost due to time and mismanagement and all that they had left was the game's database from 1.12, the last major patch before the Burning Crusade expansion was released in 2007. World of Warcraft Classic is actually build on top of the 7.4.2 Legion client and the 1.12 database is being used to recreate as much as possible from the original game, you probably wouldn't want to be an intern on Blizzard during the times they where recovering data from that Database lol.
I'm really looking forward to experiencing this new old adventure, I didn't play in Vanilla wow and I already have a couple of friends ready to play when the servers open and hopefully we have a blast. It would be interesting to know if Steemians will be joining as well, it would be pretty cool to get some of you into the same guild and have some fun around Azeroth again :-D
As you can see in the main picture, the game will release this summer on August 27th, so there's actually plenty of time to get ready and decide what you want to do!

I'm trying stay far away from this. I know what will happen to my time if I start playing it. Ah the good old days where it took you weeks to do one thing. I miss those days of having that kind of time.
